(off) Petition for Halo 4 to have Halo 2's Ranking System.

Hopefully most of you should know what the Halo 2 rank system was like. It was EXTREMELY competitive and challenging to get to the higher ranks. This is how Ranked online should be like.

In Halo 2’s multiplayer, you were ranked up from not only winning the game, but also on your statistics in that game, and the ranks of the opposing team.
This really shows the good players, from the bad. In order to rank up, you must first win the game, have good stats in that game, and also beat players who have a similar (If not, a higher) ranks to you.

As you start to get to a higher rank, you then will then also have to start to gain win streaks to level up.

Each RANKED playlist should have their own rank instead of one global rank.

In Social Playlists, Forge and Custome games, they should have their own Ranking system. Some what the same as Halo 3’s after the TU2 update.

If you agree with the challenging, competitive ranking system to be returned, Please say!

Can we please stop with all of these nonsensical “protests?” They’re childish and serve no purpose except to bury actual, intelligent discussions.

Halo 2 has had he greatest Multiplayer of all time. We need to bring this back.

Signed. Just hope 343 can keep the cheaters and modders out this time

Anyone else?

Absolutely not.

Halo 2’s ranking system is inferior to TrueSkill in every way.

Furthermore, Halo 2 did not take into consideration your in game stats, only the win or loss and the level of the other players.

A permanent ranking system encourages cheaters and second accounts. Something like Arena does not, for its rankings are temporary and reset after a few months. This allows new players to be easily ranked while also letting older players see how they’ve improved. Another plus of Arena is that it takes the same amount of time and effort to get Onyx than to get Bronze. Also, boosting is less encouraging because your efforts will be moot in a month or two.

The ranking system that Halos 2 and 3 share is very much like an RPG level-up system, where you need to “kill enemies and loot dungeons” or win games to level up and “dying”, losing a game, makes you lose progress. That metaphor meant that it’s not cool to start at level one and have to grind up to the top, even when your skill commands the rank. That is one reason why second accounts were able to wreck the system, because they steamrolled through the lower ranks, setting people back that were on their own climb to glory.

What is the deal with petitions?

I doubt they have any impact.

There is plenty of cheating in the Arena. There are also plenty of second accounts that do the exact same thing they did in Halo 2/3.

I have to disagree that the Arena solves the issues of ranked MM. They probably reduce selling accounts and in turn reduce cheating, but it surely does not get rid of it or discourage it.

I personoly never played H2s but from what i hear it was impossible to get past 35. I would like a system more easy than H2s but more difficult than halo 3. Im so fed up with cR though, so im going with anything at this point

Yes Signed

I was possible to get past 35, but it was not possible to get past 45. The reason for this, was not because it was to hard. Today there would be just as many 50s in Halo 2 as Halo 3 if it werent for all the cheater’s. The cheater’s dominated from 45-50 and the legit players played from 1-45.

I liked Reach’s credit system :frowning:

Your rank only shows how much you play.

The cR should have been used to unlock armor only, not rank up.

They don’t. They’re just created by self-entitled brats that think they can bully 343 into getting what they want. Petitions need to be banned in the forum update. Only allow discussions for possible changes, and if it get enough support then, maybe 343 will consider it…

The answer!

I agree. It was far better, it had its problems but those could have been worked out an fixed instead of introducing new ones with the system Halo 3 had.

Any system is better than Reach’s.

Arena’s trueskill isn’t half bad, has problems of its own that could probably be worked out an made better but I think people like a number/symbol next to their name over a division.
