This game is over a year old now. And the number of reqs now is significantly more then when the game came out. And doesnt seem to be slowing down. I have noticed that the number of low ranking players is increasing. This is a problem for these players because the grind for better reqs becomes more and more of a grind for them. I have been playing sense it was released and i havent even been able to really enjoy the better reqs. Phaetons. Mantises. Etc.

I agree, I think bronzes should gurantee 1 permanent unlock, silvers should gurantee 3 permanent unlocks, and Gold packs should gurantee 4 permanent unlocks, just to make the grind a little less grindy if you catch my meaning.
The way it is now lower ranking player are going to get “req’d” by the higher ranking players!
the req grind seems bad at first, but it’s actually not.
just grind bronze first, sliver next, and gold last.
Also finishing WZFF’s commendations hands out free gold packs.
once they shifted emblems out of the permanent unlock spots things really got moving.

It might not be “bad”, but I’m almost Sr114 and I’m only about 80% of the way done by doing it the most efficient way possible with no money and selling most of my REQs. I wouldn’t call that ‘good’ by any means.

This!
I did do bronze. Then silver. And now gold. And still havent really received much of the better reqs.
Back in the day emblems counted as these permanent unlocks, and with the memories of reach update emblems no longer count so its easier to unlock stuff.

Way too kind. 343i can’t make money off of that. Gold should give three items though, that I can see happening.

With more permanent unlocks per pack, the amount of sales could increase. People might view it as more “getting their money’s worth.”
And because it has been successful for 343, you can bet that the req system will carry over to Halo 6. Most of the reqs that are in H5 could carry over to be part of H6. And they will continue to create more reqs for H6. And other future games.
Increasing the amount of perm. unlocks could be viewed as a positive for H5.

I disagree, the number of permanent REQs you unlock should stay at two, except maybe for the bronze which is utterly useless in my opinion. To be fair , SR 114 is less than 10% completion in terms of XP, so it makes sense you shouldn’t have unlocked all the REQ items no? SR 126 is when you have a bit more than 5,000,000 XP (10%) for reference. I only finished Gold Packs a bit after SR 140 so don’t worry it’s not like you guys are the only ones with stuff to unlock, just have to grind it out and be thankful emblems no longer count as permanent unlocks, that was a travesty!
I understand your frustration though, the REQ system isn’t that great and doesn’t appear to be very balanced for new players. That being said, there is some evidence that 343 has altered the system to favour new players entering the game. Youtuber LukeTheNotable made a video on this and shows how the REQs you receive earlier in the game are usually weapon/vehicle certifications rather than cosmetics. Enables players to have more balanced weapons (obvs a SR 26 won’t have a nornfang but tbf they shouldn’t).
Personally, I think unlocks should be based on a merit system such as unlocking items based on commendations completed. Or even better, a credit system like Reach would be perfect! Could save up and preview what you wanted rather than getting a random item from REQ pack, should definitely return to that IMO.
Thing is most people wont grind on a game for a extremely long time. They get burnt out before the “fun” really begins. Games get criticized for having to grind.
Yeah but I’d rather the grind than handing out powerful REQs to everyone, month of mythic proved that since mythics lost most their value.
There has to be a reward for playtime otherwise why bother playing if you unlock everything after playing a week? no reason to comeback and play more
Yeah, I’m about 20% into the gold pack REQs and I find it hard just to turn on the game at this point. Having to grind an hour on Warzone per pack, only to get two things you didn’t even want is a real buzz killer. I get 343 doesn’t want to just hand us REQs, but they can’t honestly expect people to just enjoy such underwhelming payouts. One of my friends, a long time Halo fan, was turned off just after about a month from the constant grinding.
Unlocking armor and skins have 0 affect on gameplay. I find most of them to be underwhelming.

Yeah, but then the community would become more divided. There would be those who say stuff like, “I wore my fingers out and spent an eternity with this game to get all these REQs. It’s outrageous they suddenly decide to put more perms in a pack, it’s so unfair for those who came in early!”
