Why are there no ODST’s in Halo 4? The most lethal force the UNSC has to offer (Spartans excluded) are a no show. Anyone think they’ll make an appearance in Spartan Ops? Or are we just going to have to wait for the next Halo…
Most likely because they had Spartan IVs and therefore no real need for ODSTs
Maybe all the ODSTs became Spartan IVs? Eventually the Human military will probably be pure Spartan IVs, and then they will never lose a ground engagement again.
I believe that most of the ODSTs were enlisted for the spartan iv program and those that weren’t involved were reverted back to their usual core i.e the army or navy.
I miss the ODSTs as they were really cool and summed up the best of the marines, etc. Also i don’t particularly think that the ODSTs would want to be involved with the spartan program due to their rivalry and vendetta against the spartans for various reasons.
So sorry but i think they are gone because if they were still in existence they would probably be on the infinity

Makes sense I guess. I still see no reason to wipe them out completely from the UNSC. Its like saying why not have the standard marines go S IV also?
As a fan of the ODSTs I miss them too.
As others have pointed out they were probably heavily recruited to become Spartan IV’s, which draws the best of the best from all the military branches.
Another reason might be that they still do exist, just not as part of Infinity’s contingent because it has the Spartan IV program on board. So the ODSTs might be filling roles in other places where the Spartan IV’s are not so heavily used.
Sort of on topic: If Spartan IVs have replaced ODSTs, do you think we could see an orbital drop for a Spops mission? Please?
