So I’m just finishing up The Thursday War and thinking a lot about the ODST’s and their history. I began to think to myself “self, I haven’t seen any evidance of ODST’s or their armor in Halo 4.” This is a little worrisome, okay it’s a lot worrisome. ODST’s have always been one of my favorite parts of the fiction and I know I’m not alone. Does anyone have any evidance of ODST’s in 4 because I have yet to see any. I can’t help but to think that I will be a little let down if they are not present.
I’m guessing most if not all will become Spartan IVs.

Theres no way every ODST will become a Spartan IV that would Diminish What it takes to be a Spartan, only the most elite Soldiers will Qualify for Spartan initiation. Even though we havent seen any ODST’s im sure that they will make an appearance
I was thinking that myself but wouldn’t the the helmet at the very least still be present? I mean it’s seen integration with Mjolnir systems since Mark V. Even from a fiction standpoint it wouldn’t make sence do discontinue something that still had practical applications.

That wasn’t an ODST it was a Spartan IV wearing a Recruit helmet.

Precisely. But CrimsnSpartan here seems to have a time machine.
All I’m saying is, ODSTs are already elite soldiers. With a new batch of spartans made AFTER the Covie war, whose to say they couldn’t have started making a lot more with bigger pools of canidates, including ODSTs, because times were becoming more peaceful and as a result standards were more lenient?

If you taking about this one, then thats a marine and Spartan IV in recruit armor. I don’t think we’ve actually seen any ODST’s yet.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high for seeing them in the campaign. MAYBE, but given what we know about the story…
The Infinity Crashes… Inside a Dyson Sphere… There’s no Orbit for them to drop from lolBut they still might show up, we really haven’t even seen any normal marines in full detail. So who knows…

We’ve only seen SPARTAN-IVs and UNSC Marines.
i have a feeling that the “Recruit/s” are 343i version of the ODST. If you look good at the helmet from the front and side it has a lot of ques for the ODST helmet we all come to love. the center of the chest armor also slightly resembles that of the ODST. Also if you take what we already know (Lots of ODST qualify and make the best candidates for the Spartan 4 program) wouldnt a ODST soldier become a “Recruit” upon becoming a Spartan 4… just a thought…

It’s hard for me to see the ODST becoming Spartans because they seem to openly despise them and respect them at the same time.
