I am going to organize a session to go after this achievement and I’m soliciting advice on the best way to get it. I’ve researched a bit and I think the best approach is the following but if anyone who has done it can suggest another strategy, please let me know.
Map: Lost Platoon
Player 1:
Up high with a Spartan Laser to take out tough opponents especially the Wraiths.
Player 2:
Circular patrol in a Chopper or Ghost to take out weaker enemies.
Players 3 & 4:
Circular patrol in a Warthog doing the same with a focus on tougher enemies.
I’ve read that even experienced players will take at least 2 hours to pass the 4th Set. Does that sound right?
You have it mostly right OP. I will say that I would change the strategy up a little bit, especially when some of the Covenant health skulls are activated. You need to get as many Choppers as possible and park them under the stairs at the base, they don’t despawn there. Eventually when I did it we were all in Choppers most of it and honestly it was pretty easy. Just make sure you have great communication so you don’t run into each other and waste easy lives. I’ve done it on Lost Platoon with easy success twice. Don’t let anyone convince you that Alpha Site is easier, it isn’t at all. With vehicles on Lost Platoon, you don’t have to worry about ammo at all either. Hope this helps. If you have more questions just ask I’m willing to help you in your strategy to get it :).
I used the same strategy as dryrain above. All we did was jack Choppers in the early rounds and save as many Choppers and Warthogs as we could without risking getting killed. Then, when Wraiths show up, have one or two guys hop out in the middle area and laser them. It still takes some time and 2 hours sounds about right. But, your team will get into a rhythm and it becomes a fun match.

A lot of people do Alpha Site and are successful. I’ve done both and Lost Platoon was WAYYY easier (at least for me). I just find vehicles makes everything easier since they are more powerful and have unlimited ammo. I lost the achievement on the last wave on Alpha Site years ago, ended up getting it on Lost Platoon with 23 to spare so I’m a little biased lol

I got my achievement and helped many others earn theirs on Alpha Site. Lost Platoon is a great map but taking vehicles out of the equation makes a difference.
To each their own. Just because it worked for me doesn’t mean it’ll work for everyone else. One thing I can tell you is that it’s at least a two hour commitment so be prepared for that.

Ah I see. I guess there’s no perfect method, and if I don’t get it using one I can always try the other.
Thanks for all the advice. I greatly appreciate the collective knowledge of the forums. I will go with the Lost Platoon map because vehicles with fast movement and unlimited ammo are a huge advantage for conserving lives. I’d hate to run out after 1 hour and 42 minutes.

I think that’s the strategy Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter used. That is probably the best strategy. Another one is doing it on Alpha Site, and bunkering down in the open elevator. You’ll need to leave now and then for ammo, weapons, and to avoid grenades, and that’s were the trouble can happen. It’s more claustrophobic and you’ll be much more grouped together with your squad than you will on Lost Platoon, but that can be seen as an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your playstyle.
Enemies on Alpha Site shouldn’t be able to go beyond the middle too much, it’s a small map and lot faster.
Only map where a ridiculous ammount of points can be scored with one rocket and little effort, used on the Grunts at the very beginning of the bonus round, the grenades they drop can kill more without any help.
I wouldn’t drive the Warthog (or a Ghost) on Lost Platoon, one player not shooting.
The Chopper is better at hitting enemies in the distance and it’s rate of fire can be increased if you have the timing with the trigger.

After practicing on ‘Lost Platoon’ I agree: use the Warthog only until there are enough Choppers for everyone then switch to them.

The host can steal a Wraith but it’s less pratical.
