So I wanted to come up with my own idea for DLC. For halo infinite, hopefully giving ideas to 343 on how they could implement things like games we wanted and returning characters into halo infinite. Please be respectful im no story writer i just got bored one night and had halo on my mind. I dont work for 343 either so dont take this as canon or something thats goong to happen, this is just an idea i had.
ODST DLC
story; chief finds a new UNSC friendly beacon near by on the ring and heads to investigate it.
Getting closer to the beacon there is a lot of enemies also searching for the beacon, and they found the source first.
After fightingnyour way through them, chief finds Buck, June, and the remaining members of alpha squad hiding out in a cave who are all relieved to see chief.
Buck explains that he overheard some grunt talking over those propaganda towers about chiefnso they activated a beacon hoping chief would find them but the bamished found them first and they were trapped.
Chief asks how they all got there as he kast heard they were on the soartan training facility that cortana blew up.
June and buck resoond that they managed to escape before in escape pods and they managed to get many of the others off as well before it exploded however they couldnt get everyone off board beforehand. Eventually their pod got near zeta halo and while they began to descend on the ring they became under firre from the banished, causing them to crash kand and get seperated.
Buck begins to explain the story of finding everyone and getting to the cave. (Buck is only an ODST at this time) and gameplay begins with the player as ODST Buck.
The gameplay missions consist of buck searching for the members of aloha nine and june. Helping free some marines along the way. The player will explore part of the ring as an ODST during this time.
After finding everyone and getting to the cave, part 2 begins.
Chief asks buck if he still had his spartan armor to which buck replies that although he went back to being an ODST he had a spare armor set on the escape pod but he doesnt know where any if the pieces are.
Part 2 will consist of finding the pieces of spartan armor. The undersuit, knees/legs, chest piece, shoulder pads, wrist, and leg utility piece. Buck will just use his ODST helmet as before.
June says he seen an armor locker that looks like the one that was on the eacape pod near by, but theyre all tired and arent able to go check it out. Chief offers to investigate it.
Upon chiefs arival, he finds an open armor locker with just the undersuit and a grunt near by laughs and says they took all of it and he will mever find it. Chief points his weapon at the grunt who then tells him exactly where to find each piece.
Each piece of armor will be scattered through various places auch as attatched to new mini bosses/HVTs, found in an area similar ti the skull guarded by snipers amd the red hunters, or just in places of interest as an example, on top of the tower.
After fiinding all pieces, chief returns to buck tells him ti suit up. More banished arrive, and chief calls in for a lift from the pilot who cannot land untill you clear the LZ. Starting the final part of the DLC, a firefight style battle fighting wave after wave if enemies untill eventually a boss lands, one similar in difficulty to either an HVT or just a brute cheiftain. Buck and the others fight alongside chief during this battle.
When the fight is over, everyone goes to a FOB, where they will remain.
Because buck and june are spartans they can NOT be recruited like marines can.
The odsts of aloha squad cant be recruited either HOWEVER speaking to them will allow the player to play as an ODST and so random, repetitive side missions auch as collecting intel and rescuing marines
Playing split screen/co-op allows tye 2nd player to play as either june or buck.
Completing everything along with a few ODST side missions unlock the falcon, reach grenade launcher, ODST themed weapons like the silenced smg and magnum.
June and buck will give you side missions as well, taking down chieftans and other HVTs. June would tag along and it would be more of a sniping stealthy mission or buck would as a run and gun type missions.
