ODST/Shipmaster/Covenant Based Halo Games

I’ve came up with an idea overnight and i will not rest until I voice my ideas. So, I feel like Halo needs separate games based on The Covenant, Shipmaster (Rtas Vadum), and another ODST game. Let me explain how they will come in play.

The ODST Game:
I was thinking of a new ODST game based on the events of Reach or Harvest. If it is based on Reach then it should be the main focus of Sgt. Buck’s duties on Reach. If not the events of Reach, then the events of harvest. I feel like the attack on Harvest deserves more in-game recognition than just in Halo Wars. So if this were to happen, maybe the games focus can be an ODST squad in the city of Arcadia fighting off covenant forces.

Shipmaster Based Game:
Let this one be based on the book “Shadow of Intent” where Rtas goes and finishes the rest of the prophets & their remaining brute followers, taking place after Halo 3. Shipmaster seemed like a cool character so I thought maybe a game playing as him wouldn’t hurt.

Covenant Based Game:
I’ve always wanted to know what it’s like to view the Human-Covenant war from the Covenant’s perspective. We’ve seen Chief/Humanity’s part of the war. Now we should get a chance to play as an elite where the enemy are the humans and to gain more knowledge to their story.

Let me know your guys’ opinions on my ideas!

Bump, I’m desperate.

I would definitely love another ODST game. Especially since they are pretty much absent from the story now. But not necessarily one following Buck. I’d like to see one following the events of Sigma Octanus IV or some other planet we have yet to experience in the campaign, granted Harvest would be pretty nice since it would be our first encounter with the Covenant. But I’d like to have a multi-player mode this time, and firefight again.
I could also really see a Reach game with ODSTs too. Maybe even a mission where you see or briefly interact with Noble 6 (I wouldn’t want an AI Noble 6 because of the disservice I’d probably do him)

They all sound good this should be brought to 343’s attention as I no doubt believe similar ideas have been brought up before. However I think that 343 is moving forward chronologically but this would still be doable as the banished instead of the Covenant. The ODST would work best as you’ve stated, in the past as ODST’s have become somewhat irrelevant with the amount of spartan IVs around.

OMG guys I am sorry forgive me for my ignorance I am retarded for a second I was mistaken that Arcadia was a city on Harvest… smh. Stupid me, just ignore that part. I just did my research and I guess I never really paid attention to Halo wars as I thought I did

Yes I rather them focus on Halo 6 you’re right but maybe this thread can form an idea to a new trilogy after the 6th installment?

Yes, quite true. And I have also done my research on the Battle of Hat Yai. Forget everything I said about an arcadia/harvest based game whereas we play as an odst. Hat Yai would be an interesting game considering the fact that it’s where a large number of ODST’s had their first encounter with the covenant.

Personally, the brutes are the species that I did the least amount of research on, give some ideas, I’d love to hear them.

I have said this couple times, Rtas Vadum (Shipmaster, Half Jaw) open world adventure fps game. Player would travel inboard of Shadow of Intent and land on planets to hunt Prophets, planets would be full of wild animals and Forerunner secrets.

Main point in this game would not be fighting but exploring beatifull places. In Halo 4 and 5 we saw how beatifull places (Requiem, Sanghelios, Genesis) 343I can create.

Surely some change from the usual SPARTAN action could be something and change of perspective could be worthy of being done. An ODST game could be about perspective on which you are more of a human like in what could be a marine game. An ODST game could have stronger stealth side on it but with occasional action that could bring change of pace on go while playing. It could be similar to what a SPARTAN focused game is but more focused on more or less regular human perspective of the war with sacrifices, losses and upholding a hope, however small. A marine/trooper game could be similar but something with more varying personalities and a bit of joking like with the marines on the original trilogy. You could be lower ranking infantry but you could whack the covenant while being on your unbeatable green style.

And as with the shipmaster and covenant perspective. I could say that half jaw himself is better as a buddy character much like Johnson so id say the covenant side could be the same thing with new playable character. There is some possibilities with this but in this post i will post about 2 of the many options which are fleet/ship wars and Arbiter style ground battles. So firstly the fleet wars. Definitely the less traditional of the 2, the fleet or ship wars could be something that could be played on both human or covenant side given both cases could be somewhat new. It could contain missions where you control a Sabre or seraph like ship in space battles giving the perspective of the faster but more vulnerable troops and then there could be parts where you play as the commander of a larger ship like frigate, Halcyon class cruiser, covenant carrier etc etc… in this mission type you could get a taste of the power of commanding the strength of the both armies, less disturbed about the smaller ships but could still be alerted by boarding parties. In this mode you could be a part of a sort of battles between fleets. These sort of missions could be also a part of a larger game sort of like in Halo: Reach with the Sabre but perhaps also in bigger scale.

Secondly the Arbiter style game where you play as a covenant soldier. Playing as an elite could be more familiar to what it is to play as the Arbiter in Halo 2 but this time with more advanced technology given Arbiter had an older armor. This could make the game easier but still interesting. But why stop on an elite side of the story? Playing as other members of the covenant could be different but still interesting. Like think of a Tanky missions with playable hunters, a tactical missions with drones or jackals, a more comical missions as a grunt, a berserker type of mission with a brute… various possibilities with different sorts of potential in them.
