ODST’s

what do you guys want from the ODST in halo infinite.

Maybe drop in and shoot some stuff.

If a traditional night sniping level is to return, ODSTs could make a cool appearance there.

I just want them to make an appearance. They’re one of my favourite parts of Halo and it’s been too long since we’ve seen them

I was under the impression that any and all remaining ODSTs were assimilated into the Spartan IV program after the events of Halo 3?

Only a very small portion of ODSTs became Spartan-IVs. The ODSTs in the UNSC number in the tens of thousands while only ~500 Spartan-IVs are in service, and they’re pulled from all branches of the UNSC.

Hmm, I was also under that impression for some reason, so it’s nice to hear they’re still out there. I had no idea there were only ~500 Spartan-IVs though. I didn’t expect thousands, but certainly more than 500.

That seems…really low given how freely Infinity threw them around in Halo 4 and Spartan Ops.

I expected maybe a couple thousand. Not a hugely significant amount, but definitely not that low.

Most likely why people have that impression is because we’ve been on Infinity for the past 2 games, and that is the main base of operations for the Spartan-IVs. There are other Spartan-IVs deployed elsewhere, but by-and-large the Spartan-IV program resides on Infinity.

The 300-500 figure was said in an interview before Halo 4 launched, and there’s only been 2 classes of Spartans-IVs listed as going through the augmentation procedures, though I’m quite sure there have been more since then.
