ODST or Reach styled Firefight?

If Firefight does return, which style of Firefight would you want it to be more like, ODST or Reach styled?

I don’t think there’s enough of a difference to warrant a vote. You can fully recreate ODST Firefight in Reach. They just didn’t make maps that were as interesting in Reach.

I have to go with Reach. It had full customization. Plus you had access to all vehicles unlike ODST where the Wraith was off limits.

ODST was fun, but Reach’s firefight was by far superior.

A great thing would be to have a classic firefight mode like the one in ODST, alongside something new, like a class-based cooperative campaign better than the Spartan Ops.

Reach definitely because you can make odst versions with limited lives and all and others can customize it the way they want.

Definitely Reach firefight. I think we will get the next evolution of it.

I preferred the all-out survival Firefight from ODST. Reach’s was fun, but it more-or-less turned into an unload-your-heavy-weapons-as-fast-as-possible after a short time. I liked the atmosphere of ODST more.

Odst, it actually felt challenging. I do like the customization reach had and firefight should always have these options, but by default ODST had the better firefight.

The reason I never got to enjoy Reach Firefight like ODST is one, most of the maps weren’t as fun and the more important reason number 2, Reach didn’t have limited weapon caches like ODST.

Limited weapon caches made you search out power weapons and provided the element of scarcity. Reach was TOO easy even on legendary due to me just going back for ammo without having to worry about running out. The only other option was turning weapon caches off altogether which just eliminated the purpose of firefight as it ruined the idea of holding a position for a concept of running and gunning while trying to get your enemies weapons. That wasn’t fun for me nor any of my friends who played Reach.

They could have at least copied from CoD and GoW and implement some kind of currency for refilling ammo or something, but instead they chose unlimited no consequence ammo refills. Also, I remember Reach having lag and all around boring time in Firefight even with all the options available, hell I even tried to remake ODST’s firefight in Reach’s but it couldn’t be done to the weapon cache issue…

That one broken mechanic literally ruined Reach’s firefight for me.

So if they fix that issue, encourage holding positions, and introduce scarcity then I can see Reach’s firefight working.
If they can’t do that then ODST is their best bet at a good firefight game mode.

See my previous post, Reach had a broken firefight mode due to the weapon cache issue.

I did read your post and I don’t understand what the problem is. If you want a limited weapons cache then you can simply play by honor rules and have people only use the cache like once or twice in desperate circumstances. If you were trying to replicate ODST’s firefight then you should be picking AR and Pistol starts for the loadouts correct? Then I don’t see how you can even be surviving the game with just those 2 weapons. ODST made you go out and find weapons even if they were small ones and you can do the same thing in a Reach recreation. I just don’t see the issue.
