I heard some talk about how it would be cool if the ODST pistol could become a loadout weapon. I would welcome it with open arms, considering we only have the default magnum. I’m not sure if it was just a random idea, or a rumor that could possibly come into reality. I personally think that would be awesome and provide more customization and familiarity with the loadout screen.
Do you guys think this would be cool? Do you have any suggestions for loadout weapons from other halo games?
Last thing, I have been thinking about the possibility of 343i adding in the choice to play as an elite as well as a spartan. It would be AWESOME if they could somehow implement the active camo technology much like the arbiter in halo 3. Where for a short time you can activate your own active camo. Maybe like an elite-only social playlist, or even the opportunity to play as an elite in warzone or warzone firefight. The only way to make it even, however, would be to make it so the elites couldn’t ground pound/shoulder charge/etc. It would be OP to be able to go invisible spontaneously in a warzone game (especially because then it would pretty much make the active camo in the req station worthless), but I think it would be a good idea. As I said, maybe just some elite-only versions of arena playlists.
Pretty sure they said no to playable Elites.
As for the ODST pistol, it’s possible.
Playable elites won’t happen it’s too much to add maybe by H6 but even then I don’t think 343 wants to deal with it even though they could profit by adding a thousand barely different elite armors
Halo Online will have Elites.
As for ODST pistol… Level 3 REQ seems fair for permanent card. Silenced, less damage, bigger clip?

why even less damage? a silenced BR/AR/DMR/SMG do the same damage, and all are only one req level above their predecessor, and a magnum is a level 1 req.

ODST Pistol. This COULD happen.
As for Elites. It’s possible, 343i have been trying to satisfy the most people possible and did say that once their main content focus has ended they will add them if they’re demanded. So if they are, expect them a long time from now.
One thing that bothers me though. How would they play? I mean, they wouldn’t fit in with a thruster pack, would they? They would have to either give them different sounds and animations or custom fit armour for it to work. But this could become an interesting gameplay point. What if they’re abilities were different? What if you couldn’t play as Elites in competitive playlists and instead they acted differently from Spartans? If 343i is going to add them, they should consider doing this:
- Reduced health and a stronger shield and melee. Like in Reach.
- A new HUD. Duh.
- Replace the Thruster Boost with a dodge roll like their AI counterparts.
- Replace Spartan Charge with either a energy-dagger lunge or roundhouse kick (again, like their AI counterparts).
- No ground pound, instead equip them with a mini jet pack that they can boost up onto ledges with (imagine the jet pack from Star Wars: Battlefront) and boost in mid-air. A mid-air kick could also be possible with this.I like the idea of camo, but that would be incredibly game-breaking. So I wouldn’t suggest it. Maybe there is a way to balance it (like have it really short like in Legendary Halo 2 and replace thruster pack?) but I don’t see one that I feel would work.
There might be SOME sort of addition of Elites in the Memories of Reach update. The whole premise of that game was Spartans vs. Elites, after all. Maybe they’ll bring an Invasion-type Spartans vs. Elites Warzone Assualt-ish gametype. Maybe just wishful thinking, but still . . .
As cool as playing as Elites was, and even though it’d make more sense because of the SOS, it isn’t really needed. But lawdy laaawwwddd the ODST pistol would be great. It has lower accuracy and range, and a higher fire rate, so it’d be perfectly balanced! It’d be a great close quarters weapon.

Exactly!

Honestly it could potentially be very simple. The dodge and spartan charge could be converted into rolls. The spartan charge roll would be a more hefty roll that damages less than the spartan charge but has better recovery time after slamming into the opponent. The ground pound and floating while aiming abilities could be removed for elites. Then have the cloak be a warzone req that is permenant any time you are an elite. So once you get to a certain req level you can keep spawning cloaks without useing the ones youve saved up in packs. Though you would have to wait for your req level to build up again between each use, and theyd prolly be shorter lasting than the normal level cloak. Though with these ideas, elites wouldnt move or act much different than normal, thus not being out of place. I really hope 343 considers this…
Feel free to move the Elites conversation to the megathread.
