Hi, I’m from germany and my english is not very good. The ODST helmet is my favourite helmet, but I want to know why is the helmet took out of halo 4? Will be the ODST helmet in halo 5?
Or know someone whether 343 will make another halo ODST part?
As of the fictional events of Halo 4, ODST armour has become obsolete.
Even 4-5 years prior at the Fall of Reach, it’s successor, Air Assault armour, was already in development and field testing.
The only obsolete piece of armour that was made compatible with Mjolnir Mark VII armour systems, was the Mjolnir Mark VI variant.
Basically, at this point in the fiction, ODSTs are either all Spartan VIs, or they wear Air Assault armour now.
I’m not sure why it was removed either. Perhaps they thought it was too similar to the Spartan IV Recruit helmet? Perhaps it’s because there’s no ODSTs in the game?

There’s no proof of any of this, however. Just because we did not see ODSTs or their armour in Halo 4, that does not mean that any of them are gone from the lore. ODSTs wouldn’t be needed on the Infinity since it’s basically the Command Center for the Spartan-IVs, but they’re most likely still around.
One I miss the ODST helmet as well. Also your english is actually pretty good.
