Okay, I’m tired of looking at this environmental piece of garbage armor called Nightfall. I want to know if and when they will give an ODST armor that actually pleases the eyes much better. Why would you strip ODST out in the first place??
The closest thing we have to proper ODST is Helljumper. 343 has the tendency to give every single thing they’re own “spin” and more times then not, that spin it not very good, hence Nightfall.
Hell jumper is better than ODST in my opinion, I would look into that.
None of the helmets quite look right to me.
The nightfall helmet looms like it was taken straight out of ODST. The armor is pretty heinous though.

Its not ODST armor, its life support gear. Its not supposed to look like ODST kit fully.

I agree with that. Most are awful.

“where’s my REAL ODST armor, 343? Why this Nightfall garbage? Why do you have change things?”
lol.
Okay, so it’s not exactly like the Halo 2 ODSTs … more of a cross between them and the Halo 3 version, so I guess you do have a point.
Nightfall was gorgeous in the Beta.
I wouldn’t mind if they brought back the ODST armor from Halo 4, but with the Reach style base helmet.

That’s it! The beta version! That’s the one that looked A LOT like the Halo 2 ODSTs.

Except Helljumper is marred by White Lines that cannot be altered, and leaves multiple gaps that are filled in only by Buck’s campaign exclusive undersuit.Another Buck Image with his rendered Undersuit. Plus Buck’s character model is beefier than the dumb multiplayer Spartan model, so the shoulderpads are smaller and the collarguard is almost comically large on our Spartans while his is more proportional and filled in.
Sad thing about Nightfall is that it’s the most detailed helmet in the damn game. I’m serious. I tried that shot with other helmets, they looked terrible. They even put fingerprint smudges on the visor. Imaging the Halo 3 ODST helmet in that level of detail.
I’m actually a big fan of both Nightfall and ODST btw, so don’t think I’m knocking anything here. I’m one of those rare weirdos who seem to actually like and enjoy the art styles of both the Bungie and the 343 games. I must have missed that day where we had to pick sides. lol
Am I the only person who loves the look of Nightfall?
343 sucks at making armour but hey, reminds me of the ODSTs from 2

Like I said, environmental.
I may be the only one, but the Nightfall body armor looks better to me than the Helljumper. Now as for helmets, no doubt I’d probably use BOTH Nightfall and Helljumper.
Despite it looking kind of off when compared to the ODST helmet, I do enjoy Nightfall. It definitely has the qualities of classic Halo armour, it even has attachments reminiscent of what we have in Reach. I think Nightfall is a great set, but it should be an option alongside ODST, rather than a replacement for it. The same goes for Helljumper.

Exactly, its not supposed to look like a full fledged ODST set because it is not ODST, Believe me, I LOVE the ODST helmet, I wear it in every game and wanted Nightfall really bad for the beta, I had that license issue, While I agree its “Derpy” I think its only that at certain angles, at some angles it actually looks pretty good. Helljumper though us basically the spartan version of ODST, ODST is for ODST, Helljumper is for Spartans, I think Helljumper, At least the helmet, looks very similar to ODST, more so then Halo 4’s ODST helmet, which I actually kind of liked.

It looks like a classic ODST helmet from that angle though… Nightfall does look like ODST, but its a little different, I think the new model is way better then the beta one.

Ya, I did notice that between them, Buck looks awesome in the armor, but the body looks so skinny and dinky on the multiplayer Spartans.
To be honest, I’d rather a separate ODST set one trully dedicated to the Helljumpers and not some stupid knock off…
