I was talking to my mate and he said that he can play halo reach custom games on odst, I don’t think that because if you bought the odst disc you will know that it came with halo 3 mythic/full mp. He also thought it was halo 3: reach. I thought the only game sharing mp with reach was cea, but I don’t know. And reach has a completely different engine to odst doesn’t it?

You’re friend is either mistaken or having a laugh at your expense. You cannot and never have been able to play Halo Reach custom games on Halo 3: ODST. As you said yourself, the 2 games run on different, but similar game engines. Halo Reach uses a version of the Halo 3 engine that was stripping down, tweaked, then rebuilt with added extras (such as the armour abilities). And again you are right about the Halo 3 Mythic disc and Halo Reach sharing its multiplayer with Halo CEA.

Halo 3 odst came with all the Halo 3 maps and multiplayer it also had firefight. Reach had a different firefight, and had halo CE maps remade for it’s multiplayer engine. So halo 3 odst was connected to halo 3, and halo reach was connected to halo CEA
