ODST and Mark V: Armor of Champs

Is it just me… or are the ODST and Mark V Armor sets better than most of the Halo 4 armor? I mean honestly all four of the new armor sets are pretty cool.

Mark V might be my new favorite Helmet. ODST coming in a close second place.
ODST might be my new favorite leg armor.
Ricochet just might be my new favorite shoulder piece.

But then again… I guess I should keep in mind that the “shiny new” factor probably hasn’t worn off, and can have a huge effect on people’s opinions.

So what do you say people? Is this new armor awesome? Or is it lame?

The new armor is absolutely my favorite part of the DLC, I mean, that Mark V helmet? Incredible!

I Love how they Turned out, The ODST Chest and Ricochet shoulders really go great with the EOD Helmet, which Inadvertently makes me Look T-45d Power Armor from Fallout 3

The mark 5 helmet and the prefect are great. Personally, I don’t like the torso and legs of the mark 5… which is a good thing because it means they did it right. The ODST is beautiful in game although the helmet looks to be a little awkward in the armory. Once again, it looks better in game. The Ricochet armor may not be one I personally like, but I respect the design and still consider it a “good” armor variant with some very good pieces.

I love the new Armors.

Though due to my love for Forerunner stuff, I’m sporting full Prefect.

Its just so… “smooth” and clean. An interesting contrast to a lot of the detail in some of the others.

Oh yes, ODST and Mark V are incredible! I love how they’re true to the traditional Halo design, being simple, yet elegant. 343i should definitely take a page from these designs in the future, since the armours in Halo 4 are far too cluttered with unneeded details.

oh yeah, killer armor. all 3 sets but the mark V looks AMAZING. im using the ODST out of fan preference I suppose.

I love how they made the Mark V Chest classic like in Halo:CE. And ODST like in Halo 2. I love how it’s it’s own armor set, and not a Chest piece and the same thrusters like in the pass.

I really dont care about armor much, for me its cool if I have it, and i dont need it if I dont have it. I must admit though, the ODST armor does look pretty nice…

I think it’s awesome! I like the tiny things they did with the armors, like the ODST’s backpack and the space diaper on the Mark V suit.

Well, I consider all 3 armors to be amazing.

Ricochet caught my eye when I first saw it but sadly Rogue took over.

But overall, the armor is great. Like the DLC. Totally worth 10$ :slight_smile:

All 4 of the new armors are great. Simple and clean like Halo armor should be.

I think Prefect is such a well designed armor. So smooth and metallic and just different.
In silver and some light blue as secondary color it really looks like some kind of forrunner hybrid-soldier.
Unfortunately they kind of messed up the legs in my opinion.

The other new armors look good as well. Mark V is just classic, Ricochet is a nice sporty fun-armor, and ODST looks really good with that backpack, though I don’t like the helmet too much. Looks too childish in my opinion.

The legs are actually very true to the concept art we think they based Prefect off of.

But yeah, they do look a little weird.

The only issues I have with the armor is that it doesn’t have the same level of detail in the helmets as the other helmets, and the shoulders are a tad bit too narrow/small than what they were in previous installations.

Also, the ODST helmet has officially earned the nickname of the Melonhead Helmet from me. Paint it green and pink/red, throw on a Solar or Blindside visor, and there you have it: A watermelon. Not a bad thing, I must say.

But still, they bring back old times from the past.
