ODST Amazing that is all

I’ve gotten all the achievements for this game and it was a monster to try and over come. For those of you out there that haven’t played this one. Its not Halo so don’t compare the two like they are. MC is a boss but in this story you learn what it means to be the best of the best without all your augments and such. ODSTs are beast of warriors and were doing all the stuff Spartans do way before them so please don’t discredit this game it really has an awesome story behind it and a few hidden eggs out there.

I loved ODST. <3

I love this game and I still play it. I just need the firefight achievements. I’ll still play it after that too. ODST was so underrated. I actually just bought the soundtrack for this game yesterday. It’s beautiful.

You guys are awesome for the response Im glad to hear that a game that flew under the radar is still loved by true halo fans! ODST is not for the weak only the true fans of Halo!

I liked it alot, however I wish the campaign was longer and there was more to do in game. I suppose it seems less impressive now at 2014 as I just beat it for the first time. I probably would have been more impressed in 2009. It would have been nice if there was more to do and more interesting stuff in the hub nighttime areas of the game. I think they could have done more with it. However playing as an ODST was awesome, loved the vibe. And the HUD was sleek and awesome, and had the shape of the ODST helmet.

I also disliked how the game takes place right around Halo 2, yet the Brutes have energy shielding, look like Halo 3 brutes etc…the Brutes still should have been shaggy and primitive., I would have loved moments like this, ODST vs scary brutality:

Brute Vs ODST

The only mission I didn’t like was the 2nd to last, Data hive or whatever. It was repetitive environment wise, annoying fights. I would have preferred a mission where your in an underground subway or highway thats pitch black and required stealth to get by enemies. Despite the darkness and quiet movement in the game you can still get spotted easily which is annoying, theres not much a sense of ambushing the enemy. But that might be because the Grunts move around and keep watch.

One moment I found cool when travelling the city at night was I found a corner full of dead mangled Elites which are never seen in the game alive, as if they were all executed and dragged there by the Brutes. Too much of the city at night looked the same.

The biggest gripe I have with the game is the lack of the battle rifle in the campaign, the assets were already in the game and they left it out for no good reason. The ODSTs are elite troops and should have had access to the best weaponry. It would have fit into the game nice…and its odd they left it out and kept the Covenant carbine in…as they both fill the same roles. I like variety just for the sake of variety of playstyle. I prefer the feel of the BR over the other weapons.

The pistol didn’t make up for the loss of the BR, the pistol was good for head shotting weaker foes…but your better off trying to melee a brute than shoot one with this dinky pistol.

Blade Runner is my favorite movie ever, so obviously this game appealed to me in some way or another. It was very Halo in nature, but somehow managed to be in a different tone than the other Halo titles.
