> Sounds nice that 343i is listening to the community. Would be awesome if they had done this way earlier into the game’s lifespan.
Exactly… not sure why they’re been so prideful. The community has been speaking with their time and how they spend it (more and more NOT playing H5) and money (less sales) and 343 has put off the things that work and keep trying things that don’t… even at a foundational game-building level. In a business where the customer is always right…
It’s about time… hopefully during development of H6, and when it releases, they plan to support these modes from the get go. And really, it’s a shame we’re even talking about this at this point, as these modes are no-brainers for a Halo game.
So what if they’re not as popular? It’s still traditionally apart of the Halo experience and the variety it offers… which is why I’m a little concerned with the wording of the CU:
“…you asked for Snipers, now go play it!”
As if people don’t end up playing it “enough” again, it will go away… again. That’s the thing, Snipers was never the most popular mode, but people enjoyed having it there as an OPTION. It was kind of a warm-up playlist for my friends and I, we didn’t spend the majority of our time with it. Or a way to mix it up after grinding intense Slayer matches/competitive modes.
343 shouldn’t be expecting huge numbers, and the fact that they’re looking for them, despite it being somewhat of a niche playlist (that is still important to a lot of people, in certain times)… there are just many factors behind it. People want the OPTION. It was never anyone’s primary way of spending their time, so don’t expect it to be.
Leave it be, and have it at H6 at launch!
