If you have played in the Oddball playlist, this is the place to leave the Matchmaking Systems Team your feedback! Please leave your thoughts on the following items and issues:
-Game types offered in this playlist (game settings, how they play on the map, etc)
-Maps in this playlist (design, weapons, flow, balance, etc)
-Anything else related to this playlist that you feel is important!
Note: If you found a bug while playing Halo 4 Matchmaking, please post here.
The Matchmaking Systems Team will review feedback and join the discussion when necessary. Thanks for playing.
The Oddball playlist uses Team CSR. Oddball will be available until October 28th, as it is a featured playlist.
> Not really feedback, but a question. What DLC, if any, does this playlist require?
The Oddball playlist does not require any DLC to play. Any time DLC requirements change, or if a playlist requires DLC, we’ll be sure to notify you via the Halo Bulletin, Matchmaking Updates, and also each feedback thread (see the King of the Hill feedback thread for an example).
Oddball on it’s own, though? Still a lot of fun. It’s always been one of my favorite gametypes and my go-to in Halo 4, so I’m glad to finally see it back.
> This game type should be added into Action sack. The playlist is good, again im in love with legendary BR’S game type
Glad to hear! Also, as mentioned in the last Bulletin, we’re absolutely considering adding Stickyball into Action Sack after Community Forge Ricochet comes into Matchmaking on 10.28. Thanks for the feedback!
2 things are a huge issue to a lot of people I’ve talked to recently.
1- Stickyball. Who thought Betrayal Booting was a smart idea for this gametype? I killed 5 people (3 enemies and 2 teammates) with 1 det. Then accidentally stuck a teammate who jumped in front of me later on and got booted for it. In a gametype where it’s almost impossible not to damage teammates, you leave on Booting. I’ve seen less betrayals in Grifball than this. Either remove Friendly Fire, or remove Betrayal Booting.
2- Legendary Oddball on Adrift. O. M. G. I knew the map was bad for default Oddball, but in Legendary it’s 10x worse. The problem lies with the map layout on top of the gametype’s settings. The game quickly turns into hiding outside behind one of the bases. As soon as a team makes way and manages to overtake the base, the ball carrier ALWAYS throws the ball off the map. Then, because the enemy spawns behind you, they already have mid-map overtaken and outnumbering your team. Since the ball spawns statically in top mid, the enemy team just rinses and repeats the process. The only thing that helped somewhat counter this was when the ball spawned at the edges of the map where the snipers now spawn. It at least made it harder to do this. Now, it’s just intentional and there’s no negative reason NOT to do it. 3-4 enemies make their way back to mid by the time your team forces the ball guy to throw the ball off, so you only have 1-2 in mid to try fighting them off, which is usually impossible. This gametype/map combo just needs removed altogether.
Stickyball was a test to see if it should be put into Action Sack right? If so, then yes. A thousand times yes. It’s so much freaking fun! Though take off Betrayals, because getting booted for an explosion-fiesta gametype never makes any sense.
CSR… Why is it Individual? Just like KotH was? This is no me gusta whatsoever. Seriously stop with the Individual CSR in Team Objective gametypes. It needs to be Team. To promote teamwork and NOT promote K/D stat padding.
Thanks! I miss this playlist. It was a welcome change of pace. The team size was just right, and StickyBall was the most (only?) fun I’ve ever had with a Sticky Detonator. My only regret is jumping into the playlist toward the end of its 2-week run. I highly recommend if it ever comes back into rotation!
