Can anyone tell me with absolute certainty that odball is a permanent playlist?
I dont think they have said if it will be or not.

In all likelihood, the Oddball playlist is only temporary. BUT, when the playlist gets pulled, the game type will likely exist in team arena and/or free for all from that point on. The reason for this is the Oddball commendations.
Commendations which require a specific game mode have led to that game mode always being available in some sort of playlist. This is pretty much the only reason breakout playlists still exist, despite low population relative to other playlists. Because there are commendations tied to the game mode, 343 has always allowed the game mode to be available for play in some capacity.

Hopefully Oddball will also be added in BTB with 1 or 2 more additional balls in the map with of course higher score required to win.

I don’t see why not, it’s a very popular gametype and is able to take advantage of some maps that aren’t traditionally as good for things like slayer (eg. riptide).
I played one game last night and it was sweatier than I was expecting. I hope it’s not like that all the time for future games or I might not play it anymore. Anyway, the gametype should be implemented in other playlists as well.
