What are some of the fondest memories you have from when you first played H5?
Happy FIFTH Birthday Halo 5!!! Were you a good game? Sure… people enjoyed you a lot.
Thanks for letting me pick a variant of the BR I will miss forever & thanks for giving Buck an extended role in-universe.
Best memories from when I started would probably have to be some of the funny things that can happen in campaign, and the fun experience it is when you first play a game’s campaign, I know halo 5 had a relatively bad campaign, but it was still fun the first time I played it; see I like to play the campaign first when I get a game.

> Time to come start heading towards MCC.
my favorite memory was just experiencing the game in its prime, with everyone getting used to the Req system and not knowing what you’ll unlock
I remember going into Forge for the first time and being completely overwhelmed by how advanced it was compared to the other versions in previous games. After learning the ropes, I found it to be highly enjoyable and would spend hours on it creating maps whether for machinimas or for multiplayer.
Edit: the game’s multiplayer is definitly among my favorites but im never going to forget the terrible launch it had. The same goes for MCC and i hope infinite wont be among this list (but judging by their creative decisions so far it will probably be bad. Same goes for the community managers who protect their microtransactions at all cost)
I actually hated it when it first came out. Ironically it became one of my favorite multiplayers in the series when I picked it back up a few months later. Say what you will about H5’s many flaws, but the gameplay was crispy af.
My favorite memories all consist of playing with some lifelong friends that hadn’t touched the series since a few weeks after Reach released. They may have moved away from Halo once more, but H5 gave us several years of Halo game nights again and it was great
Unfortunately my fondest memory of Halo 5 is me being disappointed that all the incredible marketing ads had nothing to do with the actual story of the game, however when all the rage settled down I came to enjoy the fun and beautiful campaign levels, the smooth gameplay mechanics and the multiplayer which in my opinion is the best to date.
The soundtrack is also phenomenal and I listen to it very regularly.
It is one of my favorite Halo games, while the story is such a letdown, everything else 343 nailed it!
So, thank you 343 for all the memories!
Honestly, H5 is the first Halo to build a community for me. It kind of breaks my heart how split the community has become. I have played Halo since 2001 and H1-H3 is what strengthened my relationship with my brothers growing up. Now with H5, I still play with one of my brothers on a weekly basis and have made COUNTLESS friends. My wish on Halo 5’s birthday is that the community comes together and appreciates what the Halo franchise has done for each of us and forget about what you don’t like about individual games.
