A couple of my friends wanted to recreate the Halo 3 forge map Octagon.
Octagon used to be the map to play a custom and warm up your shot in Halo 3!
Apologies if someone already created a thread like this but I couldn’t find it.
It’s obviously easy to create but we are having trouble with the spawns. The game won’t spawn you in if the person is looking in the direction of the spawn. This leads the to person spawning literally directly next to you and doesn’t really make for a fun warm up.
There has to be someone out there that has recreated an Octagon map and got the spawns to work. Does anyone know how to fix them?

Agreed, but I’m not saying it’s ideal. It’s better than nothing, and to be honest, not hard to fudge. Spawn underground ontop of lifts and have shield doors ( If they exist ) so they can’t go back down. Boom, closest you can get. I haven’t really touched Forge so not sure what’s there to use.
Dude I really hope you find an answer. I spent 2 hours yesterday building an octagon with the new effects and everything, and the map is unplayable. That’s the main reason I was excited about forge and now I don’t even feel like playing H5 anymore.

The problem there is that you don’t have time to strafe or maneuver when you’re flying into the fight up the lift. I’ll probably still do this, but I can see it being a disadvantage to someone lifting while the other player is already in the arena.

When I get home I can give it a shot with you if you’d like, be home in about 6 hours.
I still have to learn what’s there, but it should definitely be possible.

Not sure because I haven’t tested it, but should be able to Boost out of the way. May be a possible solution. As I told the other guy, I can help in about 6 hours when I get home.

I’ll check out a possible teleporter system when I get off work. Seems like the best solution. Thanks for the thoughts guys!
I would make everyone spawn outside the octagon in little box rooms that are just big enough for you to walk forward into a teleporter and put you inside the octagon where you would normally spawn in the old version.
Seems to be the simplest and quickest way into the action.
Why not spawn in a room with a soft kill barrier with a sender teleported and replace all the spawn points on the map with receiver teleporters? It’d cause randomized teleporting.
