I’m sure this is a long shot but I figured I’d post here anyway. I recently was looking into getting a skin for my Vita when I came across a site called DecalGirl. They do great work, and have the option to upload an image that they will then turn into a skin. I would really like to use a particular picture from Halo 4 that has been released (Spartan Ops Spartan face to face with a Promethean) but using anyone’s IP requires permission. Would it be possible to get permission to use that particular picture for a one-time skin? If so who/where would I ask?

Um, Check with Xbox LIVE/Microsoft’s Terms of Service page, I think you can use an image, video, music, or character, as long as you’re not making money off of it, and where it’s for personal use, I don’t think they’d get up tight over it.

I guess the whole “as long as you’re not making a profit” things is the reason, since they would be selling me the skin. They have several game based designs, mostly Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon, so I assume they license from Ubisoft. It’d be great if someone from 343i could comment on this to either shoot down my hopes or nudge me in the right direction.

I would say give BS Angel a poke with either a tweet or a PM, she might be able to get something in the works that might help.
