Real quick on this one: Oddball and CTF objective holders should be one hit KO’s. The nerf to make you reliant on team doesnt accomplish whats attempted, and instead just creates frustration. If my team is not helping because they just want kills and I get 2v1’d with the obj, I stand ZERO chance. A 1 hit kill could turn that around. Its always been 1 hit kill, please change it back
After a few weeks of objective gameplay, I can say it’s not even fun holding the objective. You have zero defense even when your team is around you trying to defend you. If you toss the ball/flag to use your weapon, those vital 2 seconds going through the throw animation to get back to your weapon just about guarantees you’ll lose the fight unless the enemy player really screws up their shots. It was a one hit melee for a reason. You take the ball/flag holder out from a distance or risk getting killed up close. Now anyone can do the old assault rifle run up and melee to kill you and all you get to do is melee them once and hope a teammate can finish them off. And even then the other major problem is grenade spam. I feel like I’m constantly playing Call of Duty World at War on veteran mode with the insane grenade spams. Anywhere you sit for more than 3 seconds, you’re getting spammed by at least 4 grenades. In my opinion, I think you should start with one grenade. Or even none and have to go pick some up. The zero to one grenade start could actually apply to the game overall.
Being objective runner/holder actually lowers your ranked progression too, since it only cares about KDA. It’s a joke.
I’m always getting double smack kills with 'em. It’s worse, yeah, but I have been able to hold off if enemies come in single file to my holdout position.
This needs to be fixed for sure. It’s really dumb how it only cares about your stats man. My friend will hold the ball and the entire time be like “man…it sucks that i know we’re going to win and I’ll get absolutely nothing for this while everyone else does.”
On the point to this topic though…from my experience it seems like you melee faster as ball carrier. I don’t feel like I’m imagining this but I swear if I’m thinking I can 2 shot beat down a ball carrier and I’m too close or even if i just think I can get 2 melee off before ball carrier sees me I end up wrong about that and get double smacked.
When I’m playing with friends though, we know when to drop objective to slay out. I don’t personally think anything needs to be changed. However…I can see the potential frustration of playing solo or with randoms. On a team with friends all communicating though, it rarely happens that objective guy is just siting there not paying attention to anything getting caught taking a dump in the corner needing to switch to a weapon when someone strolls up like “gotcha!”

For all Ske7ch said about the problems they have seeing Objective as a standard playlist, they are going out of their way to make that a self fulfilling prophecy.

Yeah, kinda agree with this. As the carrier, you are already impaired enough as is. And if no teammates are around to defend you, you have no chance.
So then the fact that you are off the HUD while flag carrier and moving at normal speed is their idea of balance with the flags slower melee?
Flag is a little weird, it should be one hit melee imo, skull is okay with slower movement and fast melee.
I don’t find Flag an issue in BTB, but in Ranked that 2 hit kill makes you such a liability trying to sneak.
