I think kills should not count as much. Or at all, we did fine with kills not counting in 1 through Reach. I got the most flags captured in one of my recent games (2 out of 2, the clock was ran down), and yet im 2nd place. 2ND! What the hell is up with that. Same thing happened in Grifball when i got 4/5 goals and got 3rd place. Just because i cared more about winning than K/D. It just seems logical that the person who captured the flag/ did the goal the most should be the one in first place in objective games. if theres already a thread for this, im sorry. and if this is the wrong forums, im sorry.
One thing I’ve noticed is pretty much all the objective playlists are team scoring or win/loss so as far as csr is concerned points mean very little if your team loses.

That wasnt my point. The point is that the person who completed the most objectives should be in first place, NOT the one who got the most kills.

Flag captured is 100 points so if you are doing a reasonable amount of slaying then you should still rank up the top with your best slayers?

Thats just it. Im more of a suppression/ assist person, favoring the Storm Rifle. i care more about the objective than kills. And like before, kill use to not count in the last 4 games, so why should they now?

What about the person who gets loads of kills and defends the objective enough for his team to complete it when he dies. He’s technically doing the objective by helping defend it, should he not be at the top of the leader-board for helping with the objective most in his team only just not carrying the flag etc.
These kind of people wouldnt get recognition in the last games but they do now, those who actually capture the flags get the score thing in the leader-board so they are recognised.
This would drive people away from objective playlists due to them offering less points.

…Good point. I think they should appear and be given credit. So how about this. Increase the flag capture points to 200 points, and the max win to 1000 points (5 captures) that way its harder for someone who just kills to overshadow the flag capture person.
I don’t think there should be any K/D tracking in objective games at all. There isn’t any point to it be measured there. Win/loss should be the only thing that matters.

They are contributing more by holding off all the enemies than the flag carrier who has an important job at the most 150 points
Also, the pole is sort of biased since its asking two questions in one and makes it out those who dont agree with you to grenade spammers
Without people slaying in your team you can´t win objectives. If you got 2 Flag caps it´s because your team helped you by KILLING the other players. If you get 2 flag caps and you´re 2nd in your team, it means that you haven´t got many kills, but kills are important to win an objective gametype. the only problem with points is that someone with less assists and less kills in a slayer game ( ! ) could have more points than you. This wouldn´t be a problem because it´s a team game, but your CSR is in the most playlists about your individual performance.

I would say just increase points for medals related to the flag/objective, slaying is still an important part of objective.
I admit, I primarily slay in ctf. Do you know why? If I don’t, my team just ends up getting spawn camped half the time and never even comes close to the flag. So if me and 1-3 others focus on slaying and map position, we can get more flag pulls throughout the game…because everyone is free to roam the map further than if they are spawn camped.
I still carry the flag, touch it when it’s about to reset, capture it when I can…it just depends on the situation.

Currently, you get the same amount of points for a flag capture as you would if you got ten kills. I think that’s reasonable enough.
The best players on objective gametypes are flexible. If they were able to push up to the enemy base and kill everyone, they should grab the flag and run. If the flag is halfway across the map and will return in 5 seconds, they should run out and grab it to prevent that, even if it means death. If you’re next to the Oddball and there’s no one around, you should grab it.
Before I started playing Halo online and I could only play over LAN with friends, we had nonverbal agreements that the lesser-skilled players would hold the objective while the more skilled players would kill. The lesser-skilled players would also go after the power weapons more because the higher-skilled players were just as deadly with a power weapon as without one. To me, that’s teamwork.

I thought fragging was another name for killing players.
Also you all make good points.
