So a quick playthrough of the mission “the breaking” in halo 5 brings us to the final cutscene where blue team faces off against an overwhelming amount of wardens, Cortana responded by removing most of the wardens bodies, and “deleting” (for lack of a better word) blue teams weapons. I find it funny that this never gets any attention, nothing about it on the wikis, can’t really find anything here… it just seems like one of those things everybody knows about, but never discusses. Do you think they’re gone forever, or will they just show up in halo 6 like nothing ever happened? Is it even canon that they were destroyed? IM SO LOST!
Its canon that they are lost, but the UNSC could most likely rebuild them.

Oathsworn has gone through several variations as Kelly has lost, discarded, broken or simply upgraded through various shotguns. Spartans use equipment as it is supposed to be used; till it is no longer useful then discarded.
Nornfang was a prototype from Misriah Armories, so more than likely they have twenty or more similarly built rifles on the line.
Interestingly, Linda is seen with Nornfang up until that point, where in Unconfirmed we find it lying in their stolen Prowler (and then Locke defaces it by using it). So there’s at least two of it.
They’re gone, but I don’t see why they can’t get new weapons with the same specs and the same color schemes and not call them Nornfang and Oathsworn. I never really considered their weapons as “unique” outside of them being the weapons that Blue Team uses rather than like an actual unique weapon with its own destiny like Excalibur or Luke/Anakin/Rey’s Lightsaber.
Unless, does Linda make special modifications and calibrations on her own? I guess in that case if something were to happen to Linda and she died, and if her last Nornfang was destroyed then it would be truly gone.

My headcannon says that the “Nornfang” Osiris finds in the prowler is merely a repainted End of the Line (to be used as a decoy of sorts). My reasons are because I don’t think Blue Team would leave a fully loaded Nornfang with multiple spare magazines behind and the fact that its damage is garbage compared to the multiplayer version. I know gameplay ≠ canon but still, it’s fun to think about.
I would think that Blue team probably have spares.

If you never picked it up, then you can make this argument. In my mind, if it didn’t show up on my screen or audio, anything is possible with the canon, so the Nornfang could very well be a repainted End of the Line, because your playthrough has no evidence against it.

I’ll accept that honestly, cause your right, it doesnt hit like the unholy truck that it should.
Maybe its Lindas backup one, she stripped it of all but the basest of ammunition and headed down into the mine

“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Reed Zone.”
Posting to counter a few points made above. I was curious about the Nornfang you got to use as Locke too so I had looked that up earlier. I believe it was the wiki that said this was more than likely a gameplay decision since the one Linda uses is unique for her. This is because she’s made her own modifications to it.
As for the weapons being taken away, I doubt Cortana would want to destroy them. We see that she has some incredible power at this point. Plus, I’m guessing she would want Blue Team to do her bidding to some extent once they come out of the space egg. To further that, what better tools for them to use than the trusty tools they know and love?

She is essentially a god like being now like the forerunners so anything is possible I assume.
