Instead of one big battle, it seems to boil down to a bunch of smaller gunfights. Usually just in the base, because going anywhere in the open section is an instant death. Way, WAY too much sniper visibility right from spawn. I keep getting sniped out of respawn while I’m trying to get back to the action.
Very unpopula ropinion, its perfect for 12 v 12 and similar in past games during their 8v8, such as all thier valhalla and nlood gulch maps
Feels like a good balance to me when it comes to how big it is and how much cover it provides.
I need to play more games on it first, it is pretty large, vehicles feel necessary to get around
Honestly, most legacy BTB maps used to boil down to a few small battle areas connected by open wasteland type areas. Most firefights or pushes are anywhere from 1v1 to 3v3’s. A couple times a match you’ll have a big battle where most of both teams are firing in the same area.
For Oasis, it’s important to remember that you need to mostly try and stay within few feet of cover. It’s more important to take a slightly longer route from cover patch to cover patch, rather than beeline it through an open field. The man cannons can help, and the middle inside corridor is a short enough run you can stay on the frontlines pretty well.
I’d also recommend making sure you’re not running around with an AR and pistol. Find a wall weapon ASAP. The internet is going to tell you that they’re perfectly fine, but the truth is any wall weapon can exploit iys strength against them. Your only counter you have is perfect frag tosses or perfect melee execution, which is perfectly doable, but often has very little room for error.
I don’t like that it’s very one-sided, like one side is OFF the CLIFF… and the other side… is WALLED.
It’s very psychologically disturbing…
I just don’t like the setting…
I’m fine with asymmetric maps, but like Zanzibar, not like this.
Not really a big fan of playing Total Control, and they have points that you can be seen from the majority of the map, and have absolutely no cover when trying to claim them for your team:

The other side isn’t much better, but they at least have a Box they can use for cover.
I agree but I think that’s good for a point of difference to other maps.
Rather open maps for BTB maps then enclosed spaces like Breaker, this map is a fresh breath of air
This is by far the best BTB map that 343 has ever made and it actually has room for vehicles to maneuver on. It also caters to multiple styles of play by having areas for vehicles to fight vehicles in the more open area, vehicles and infantry to fight in the cave, and infantry to fight infantry inside the building.
Oasis is probably my favourite BTB map so far.
Could you elaborate on this? Im trying to figure out what you’re interpreting.
I just hate the huge hole in the ramp/floor on the cliff side. I fall down it all the time because I think it’s just a window or something like on some other maps. I’m always just like that’s not a hole why would anyone just make you fall to your death there lol. It’s a trap!
This is basically what BTB is, on every map throughout Halo’s history.
I love the map, Was so happy yesterday as got a killtacular, don’t even remember last time that happened ![]()
Maybe the implications of a race being able to teraform? That’s the best I can come up with lol
Oasis map is that boring we’ve named that one wall after the band Oasis’ most boring song. Wonderwall.
I love it because it is big. It’s nice having a map that you can actually move around on some. It’s nice being able to spawn and not start being shot as soon as you take a few steps if any steps in some cases.
if only a warzone or firefight mode existed here, oasis really reminds me of Raid on Apex 7 from H5.
BTB is to big? It supposed to be big it’s in its name.
