O.N.I. , a replacement for Sword Base

Hello to all !
First , I just want to say that I didn’t make the map , my friend did.
I give full credits to him , I am just posting the map on the forum just to show it to the fans that think that Sword Base cannot be good (and maybe replacing Sword Base in Matchmaking?).
The map is called O.N.I , it is a balanced version of Sword Base .
Big differences with the original map :
1:Yellow Lift completely blocked
2:Bottom/Red Lift completely blocked
3:Top Vent completely blocked
4:Few scenery changes to have more cover
5:Different weapon placement
6:Different spawns, ‘‘switchable’’ like my friend calls them
7:Shotgun , Sniper Rifle and Rocket Launcher are the power weapons
8:Both teams have a good starting point
9:Plays well up to 8 players like any small maps
10:Should work with 2 player Split-Screen
11:Teleporter that leads from the Sword corridor to the one room next to Yellow Lift
I’m sure the map is not perfect and that’s why I’m asking you the Halo community to please download the map and try out with some friends, send me some feedbacks on this forum topic thing and I’ll tell my friend so he can apply them !
This map works with :
Slayer
FFA
Juggernaut
Flag
Stockpile
King Of The Hill
Oddball
Here is the download link :

Thank you and have fun !

Downloaded, and I’ll be checking it out tonight.
A few concerns though, and I hope these aren’t true. The lifts on S.B. allow quick access to top levels, which are (as many of you know) far too overpowered in terms of sight lines and map control. From your description, you have taken out the “camping spots” which effectively double as movement devices for regaining map control. This dis-concerns me though, as that kind of map movement is essential to a map of that shape. Fairly small lengthwise, but 3 stories tall, with varying height elevations.

So from what I can tell, you have two ways to go up top, climb (low bridge/back stairs), or teleport from the -underused- sword room. Both of these would be easy to camp, and have two people suppressing fire and holding the whole map down. I’m curious though as to where you put spawns in relation to power weapons, as that can be one of the more difficult parts of balancing a map. But it sounds like one of those “If everyone plays nice” kind of maps, in such a way that your testers aren’t -Yoinks!- to each other, so they don’t try and break it… so “Everything has gone fantastically”.

I hope I am wrong, and you have made something of value here. Balancing sword base is no easy task. I attempted a recreation in forge world, while actually balancing issues of top mid control, but it kinda fell under the radar, and I stopped working on it.

My friend made the map , I’m pretty much a noob when it comes to forging .
But if you have any feedbacks or suggestions , just post them here and I will tell my friend .
