Numbers in the main menu what do the mean?

I have no Idea if they have even been talked about or explained. So what is up with the numbers in top right of the screen?

I always thought it was the current patch. But I’m probably wrong.

That is the current build number of the game. Similar to how Halo 3 had 1.2, Halo: Reach had 1.1 and Halo 4 had 1.05.01.

I thought that too cause it makes sense, except for the fact it doesn’t have a " . " in the numbers as what you would see with a build version like “1.09” instead its “79899”, It looks more like a population count.

It isn’t a population counter, it’s a build number. Halo 5 doesn’t follow the typical 1.1, 1.2 stuff usually seen in Halo games.

Lets say it starts at version 1000 and someone fixes a few bugs, adds a new map, it’ll change to build number 1100. Every time a new patch comes out, the build number updates on the main menu.

It was like this in the beta, too.

I can promise you it isn’t and most likely represents a form of build number. I can also promise you in the number will be the same 24 hours from now unless a quick patch is released.

The more you know

I always want to know what the team rank/ player rank etc. numbers meant when forming your req points at the end of the game.

Always wondered this glad to see I finally have an answer.
