Chances are the Ordnance system won’t feature anything like this in Halo 4, but for future games, i’d love to see this appear. It would certainly make matches much more interesting. Check out my NextGen Halo thread at the General Discussion page for more ideas and to add your own.
By NPCS in multiplayer, I do NOT mean bots filling empty spaces in matches. I mean NPCs that you can call in to assist you and follow you on the battlefield. For example, if the Ordnance system was to return in Halo 5 and 6, let NPCs become available once you’ve reached something like a Killing Frenzy. Once you call them in, a Pelican would quickly leave your new squad on the ground and flee the battlefield. Once these squadmates have arrived, they can get into vehicles you decide to drive. Therefore, you will always be promised a gunner and a passenger whenever you get into vehicles. Or you can be the gunner/passenger and have your own driver(I’d imagine NPC driving being greatly improved in the future). Also, if you’re playing with buddies, NPCs can be forced out of the vehicle by your friends if they wish to do so.
One more thing: Let’s say you’re the gunner of a vehicle with an NPC gunner. Using the bottom of your D-Pad, you can order them to immediately stop so you can attack a specific target. Other commands include setting waypoints for your driver while pressing the left bumper and looking directly at where you’d like to go, so it would be quite similar to how Halo Wars played.
NPC Kills would give you half the amount of credit you’d receive for earning your own kill(Considering how Infinity multiplayer uses a different score system). Instead of the full 10 points, you’d receive 5.
NPCs would also be standard Marines. Got a rampage? Call in ODSTs(Differences being that they wield Shotguns, instantly drop into the battlefield via their pods, and have increased health).
They would be very weak characters, and i’m not exactly directing this at Halo 4. Mainly future games that could implement higher player counts and overall better capabilities.
Mainly for Big Team games that revolve around vehicular and large scale warfare.

Still not feeling it. Even with 32 on 32 that just won’t seem right. Not as ordnance drops anyway. If they spawned in initially with the team and only had one life then that would probably work better. The game flow would be kill off the NPC first then concentrate on the players. I dunno, seems like too much work for nothing.

I am not saying 64 player Big Team. Mainly 24 to 32 players on slightly bigger maps. ONLY Big Team in future Halo games. It would not work otherwise.
so basically you want fish-sh**'s (COD’s) call in AI to fight for you? the point of MM in halo is fight for yourself and your team. its an arena shooter, you go in with an over active trigger finger, skill, and a TINY bit of strategy, and hope everything falls into place in your favor. not call in AI to fight for you. leave that stuff in COD

Not a horrible idea, but I kinda like my 4v4 slayer
i like the idea with the D-Pad and Gunner positions
that should be implemented into campaign (so tired of my bad marines shooting at things i don’t want them shooting at)
and it should find a way into multiplayer also, this will help by telling your (player) gunner what to shoot at
so you can:
-A) Help good gunners find targets
-B) better control Bad gunners by giving them a target that is better to shoot at
-C) not spam the horn trying to get the gunner to shoot a target
I think it would work. I am not saying fighting with or against us. I mean planning spawn points of npcs and put them on separate teams in forge. Then, go into custom maps to watch the npcs fight. Have like a couple of people join the game to watch the npcs fight from a high point so they are not killed. There could also be a set time limit for when the npcs begin to spawn. Work good with machinima battle scenes.
