Now that we have weather in Forge...

We need weather exclusion volumes, that way we can create maps with buildings where the rain and snow and such aren’t coming through the ceiling.

I was planning on making a haunted house sort of map in preparation for Infection where it’s raining outside and you can hear the rain up against the windows (that sound effect is awesome), but it would just be raining inside as well.

Great point, wonder why 343 didn’t implement that. It could be similar to how the sun and lighting works where it is blocked or shadowed when an object is in the way. Hopefully it is added or updated within the next update.

That would of been a logical step to make when implementing weather, so naturally it wasn’t included. I do wonder if 343 have plans to implement this particular feature.

Well, I was thinking of something simple with “weather exclusion volumes” which are just size-customizable volumes you can place (like named location volumes and spawn volumes) that make weather effects disappear within them. That way, 343 doesn’t have to make complicated engine tweaks and players also have more freedom.

I think your solution sounds quite reasonable. It’s something I’d definitely support!

I’m surprised 343 didn’t do that

Wait that isnt already a thing? Why would they make it so that its visible everywhere? Thats disappointing

That would very much work as well.
