Now that MS is giving away the game for free....

only a few months later lol, that has to sting a little for those who bought a system for it and for it to be broken the entire time up till it coincidentally is added to a bundle

see you guys in halo 5

As someone who got this game on release day, this does sting. No way I’ll ever play Halo 5, unless I get a free copy somewhere.

I still have my Halo edition original Xbox, and have been playing Halo since CE released. This game under-delivered on such a massive scale.

And this right here is the logic that confounds me. “The publisher/developer might be screwing us over, but let’s give them more money for their next game! They won’t make these mistakes again!”

I remember people raving about Reach, Halo 4 and the MCC pre-launch and then listening to the overwhelming disappointment that followed. I’m SO sure Halo 5 will be different though…

no pre-orders, only dreams for now.

Once 343 shows the latest build at E3 the Halo 5 hype will be in full force and halo MCC will be a distant memory

Yeah it sucks I guess. But I’m past that “I had to suffer, so you should too!” mindset. I just want ranked matchmaking with a healthy population… even if that means giving deals out.

I can’t believe how selfish some of you people are.

God forbid people wanted a working product on release.

Just look at the situation. I’ll share my experience with you so that you might understand a little better how I feel.

I never saw any reason to get an X1 until MCC was released, so I traded in my 360 to get a X1 with the idea that 4 Halo games would entertain me for hundreds of hours until an exciting new game came out on the X1 that would further justify my purchase. Well, MCC came out, I couldn’t play it. I was upset, as you can imagine. Normally, I would have gone back to my 360 and played Halo 3 or Reach or whatever other of the 40 something games I had. But the X1 isn’t backwards compatible! How sucky.

So now I was out 400 bucks and all I had was a very heavy and very expensive Netflix machine. Updates were promised to fix MCC, but with each passing update it didn’t get any better. Now here we are 4 months later and the game STILL doesn’t work 100% for me. Finding games still takes way too long. Ranking system still doesn’t work correctly for me. Even campaign still has a billion and a half bugs. I’m the kind of guy who runs through a legendary campaign or two in a day, but I’m just barely going to finish the last one after 4 months because it freezes, doesn’t load, or just drops the game suddenly. I’ve lost lots of progress and wasted lots of time trying to play how I would like to play.

I asked for a refund and they said it wasn’t possible, and that if I just waited 2 or 3 more hours, the game would be working properly. Well, it’s been 3 months since then and the game still doesn’t work properly. I haven’t received my free month yet (which should be 4 months, because the game still doesn’t work how it’s supposed to).

So to see them offer this game for free when they wouldn’t even give me a refund a few months ago is kind of like a big slap to the face, on top of the whole ‘‘Halo Championship Series is going great! We’re just gonna pretend that the game works perfectly!’’ that they do on Twitter all day.

It just goes to show the kind of company 343 really is. They haven’t showed that they truly care about the customer in this situation. Whether or not you were affected as severely as I was, you should be upset that something like this has happened to someone without any kind of apology or compensation. I tried to get a refund and be done with it, but they wouldn’t even let me do that.

I’ve just been very disappointed by the entire experience to be honest.

I’m not upset at all. I got the sunset overdrive bundle and that game is worth $60 more than the MCC. I got a better game with my bundle so I’m happy.

Funny that my gamestop decided to give me the Xbox one a couple of days ago that came with the MCC code for it. Pretty ironic actually…Like, a few days before the MCC bundle was announced.

[Missing the good old days of Reach Custom Games intesifies]

You’re definitely winning with that gorgeous white console and controller too!

You’re gonna have to get over it, OP. This happens to every popular game.

Thats fine. But being upset that others get to play a game for less $ than you did is silly.

Not four months after release.

They should have paid me to play this game for the first four months. It was painful.

Get over it? I got it for $36 during the XBL sale a couple weeks ago. But games being broken for 4 months isn’t normal, then it suddenly goes free right after its fixed lol. I spend $235 on my Xbox One, brand new, so I have nothing to complain about personally but many do. Including those who bought it after 12-19 and won’t even get ODST because MS didn’t want to give the huge influx of Christmas buyers free content

Sort of like the Hype before MCC came out. Play all titles as you remember only in 1080p/60fps, LOL. Yeah cause 60fps means ranks coming soon, I have the feeling they meant “Ranks Coming Soon” as in Halo 5.

As for news unrelated to Halo but still under Microsoft, I just heard that Rod Ferguson (I may have spelled that wrong) is heading Black Tusk which is making the latest Gears of War. I can only hope that at least 1 company under Microsoft can get something right. If not sucks that I bought an Xbox One.
