Anyone else think that 343 needs to try and get this guy on team to write the next halo or at least the SpOps so they are amazing?
That’d be great. Although I think Halo 4’s writing was superb already.

We have Schlerf, we don’t need Staten. However, I’m all for him replacing [CLASSIFIED](Then again, I’m open for anyone replacing [CLASSIFIED]). Also, this thread just reminded me of the CH ending shudder

What’s wrong with Reed and Traviss? I seriously have no idea.
Traviss created two books that are all about Halsey hate and Reed made Palmer the most disliked character ever.
I get what traviss did, that was a set up to Spartan ops and opened a huge plot when Halsey was captured. But Palmer could have been a great character and Reed destroyed her. She is probably the most hated Halo character next to Osmin.

Spartan Ops by Traviss would be wonderful. Who wouldn’t love to see Halsey cry herself to sleep and not actually do something. Or a full episode about Lasky’s breakfast

To be fair, at least Traviss ATTEMPTS to give an honest portrayal of the moral ambiguity at ONI. I would have thought since they are directly responsible for the villification of Halsey that any lowering of the reliability of ONI as a moral compass would play well with you considering your complaints about the recent portrayals.

Both don’t seem to get certain things in the Halo story. Under [CLASSIFIED], who wrote Spartan Op’s story, we got the annoying Palmer everybody hates along with other bad dialouge. He also seems to have difficulty with context since he blatantly calls Halsey a monster in a Halo Bulletin, because obviously it isn’t worth explaining why she did the things she did and having the fans actually THINK for themselves. Then let’s not forget Initation and all of it’s bad writing, between Palmer’s “I hate doctor and scientists because they make me feel dumb” justification to the Innies hijacking the Infinity in a top-sect area of space.
[CLASSIFIED] is much of the same. She also willingly does no research on any franchise she writes for and it shows. A punch from a Spartan-III causing minimal damage on Halsey? Ha. The society of the Sangheili also got a real ravaging. Apparently, the Sangheili have no idea how to farm and maintain their own technology, instead having the Brutes do all of that. You know, the same Brutes who launched an extermination campaign during the Great Schism? The same Brutes who would rebel on Sanghelios in Thursday War and yet the Elites are surprised?
Both are hacks as far as I’m concerned.

I fully agree with everything you said, but is it 100% their faults? Their works do have to be approved by 343. Right?
