Get rid of this progression system, more customization options, more game modes…the list goes on… Reddit have some cool posts on this also the last video from Act Man does sum it all pretty good.
My two biggest issues are the inconsistencies with collision (particularly in regards to melee) and the game crash/server kick issues that are removing people from games in all playlists and getting some people unrightfully banned.

Just want to echo a few things just incase 343 is reading:
I absolutely love the gameplay for Halo infinite and this is probably the best Halo I’ve played since Halo 3. That being said, the approach for the battle pass and the store needs a lot of work to say the least…
Leveling up is far too slow and XP should also be awarded for your performance during a match AND for winning one (not just for completing a match). This will encourage people to play the objective (many pretend they’re playing slayer on CTF/Oddball) and make players feel like they’re progressing. Also, the fact that the battle pass and events are full of challenge swaps and double XP is disheartening (these are not rewarding in the slightest). The fact that you have to pay to get SIMPLE colors (I.e. BLUE) and visor colors that are locked to an armour core, is ridiculous. Paying for crazy armour colors/coatings is understandable, but not for really basic colors that are locked to a specific armour core. People would be less upset if you could unlock one color for ALL cores as well. Paying for three $20 bundles (each being one armour coating, a charm, and an emblem…) and I’ve just paid full price for the CAMPAIGN… For what we get from these bundles, they are not worth the price we pay for them. In the current state, when I look at someone’s armour, I think “this person spent $200” rather than “sick armour how can I get that.” In Halo, grinding through the game to get armour you wanted was part of the experience and locking most of it behind a paywall is insulting.
I recognize that armour cores and the store are not going anywhere at this stage. However, this system could work if it was implemented in a way where players felt that they were worth it. First off, an armour coating, visor color, and armour itself should not be limited to a specific core (bots mix&match, why can’t we?). This will make players feel like their unlocks are worth more and are more likely to buy them. Second, basic color coatings should be available for all cores (crazy cosmetics are different). Third, and most importantly, the challenge swaps in battle passes should be replaced by store credits so there was some way to unlock everything. Fourth, providing more XP awards for someones performance during a match and for winning a match will allow people to progress through the battle pass at a more satisfying rate. Alltogether, this will eliminate complaints about most armour being locked behind a paywall and players will feel like their time/effort into unlocking something is meaningful. Players can craft their spartan the way they would want (a core feature in the Halo experience) without spending 5-10X the price of the campaign.
In addition to the progression/store, it would be nice for 343i to add more Playlists and modes to play to add some variety to the gameplay (although I am having fun with what is available). These include: infection, King of the hill, assault, vip, juggernaut, free for all, etc… Allowing players to choose the types of games they want to play like the MCC would also be ideal.
Again, I’m absolutely loving this game but the monetization/store needs a lot of work. 343i has absolutely nailed every aspect of this game and it would be a shame if people stopped playing for this reason. Once this is done players will feel like their unlocks are actually worth something and give players more satisfaction for their time spent in the game
I mean, they have a post-it’s and a planning board of stuff they’re going to work on this coming week. Which was planned well before-hand. So whatever they’re doing we won’t see for a hot minute, but they’ll probably post something or drop a hotfix in a week or so.
I wouldn’t expect anything crazy though, just tweaks.
-weapons
- AR: needs more of a wider spread added to it. we don’t want another SAW here
- Sidekick: reduce the fire speed. in the current state it’s just a DMR and makes the Commando redundant
- Bulldog: Decrease the effective range. it’s a shotgun, not a sniper rifle
- Hydra: should deal less damage to vehicles, but more to players. like half a mag for players, and an entire mag to wipe a vehicle. also have the lock on ult fire do less damage as a trade off
- Grav Ham: decrease the effective range of this, it’s so not fun to try and run away from it, yet still die despite being what i would think out of swing range. also give it back the ability to propell yourself like in the old games
- Commando: up the accuracy a lil bit
- Ravager: up the damage, and decrease the time it takes for the ult fire
- Plasma Pistol: give it back the ability to EMP vehicles
- Stalker Rifle: make it more of a Carbine, rather than a sniper. since the Shock rifle is already the sniper, and the pulse carbine is the plasma rifle. in terms of roles
- Sentinal beam: have it overheat rather than have amo reserve, like the old games
-Vechicles
- Universal: up the health of all. in the current state, they’re kinda weak sauce
- Warthog/Mongoose: Not as bouncy and physicsy as they should be. also remove the auto correct feature of them. kinda ruins the immersion for me as it feels like the game is driver, not me
- Wasp/Banshee: make them more unique rather than copy and past but on the other side. even if it’s a buff/nerf to something. like make the banshee bomb powerful, but have the guns be not as effective. whiles the wasp would have faster firing and more damage with the guns. but the ‘bombs’ or missles would do less damage but have lock on to other vehicles
- wraith: decrease the projectile speed
- Rocket hog: make the missles more akin to Reach, with them firing 6 at once and having to over heat, or at least have it be a ult fire to it. as in it’s current state… kinda underwhelming and not as powerful feeling, given the look of the hog
-Customization
- make the ‘armor coatings’ universal to the armors
- make the emblems also universal rather than having them seperate to armor, vehicles, and ID
- allow us to customize the armor kits, make them more customizable presets. rather than brick presets that we can’t change
-Progression system
- add per match Xp: like maybe 10-20 xp for a common medal, and 50 for a mythical medal
- earn in game currency: have it be either every challenge gives you the in game currency, like every 50 xp the challenge gives, have that be 1 point. OR have 10 points be awarded for every level up
- add a rank system: akin to 3, Reach, 4, 5, and MCC
-Minor things
- Challenge swaps: allow the player to choose a challenge, rather than it being random
- view models: i like to move my arms about… but the sliders are kinda limited. i’d like the sliders to move the view models all the way from left to right, fully up and down, front and back, rather than only on the right side of the screen.
Progression, which would directly help the poor customization options early in the game.
How about fixing actual problems like crashes, and crash related bans, and the inability to rejoin ranked game modes when you do crash?
Armor coatings and visors being universal is an easy start to opening customization options!! Why is the HCS Winter coating, or the “Pepsi” skin, the only universal one?…
Contrary to most complaints, I enjoy the 3 armor cores with the ability to have 3 Spartans customized and ready to switch between on the fly. I also understand 343 wanting to control Halo lore and what is considered canon, by not allowing mixtures of Yoroi with “modern” armors. There just isn’t enough early options to give players sufficient customization options though.
I also admit that I have already purchased the standard season pass and a bundle which I justified by having a free to play game and I just “needed” that helmet for my Spartan hahaha. It’s a scary thought for the business model of Halo to evolve, but I believe it’s necessary for a transition to a free to play live service game that they hope to continue for years. It could just be done better with more reward through progression.
Technically its not universal in the HCS bundle they gave you 3 coatings for each core lol. A wonky bandaid fix that will rear its ugly head again when a new core drops and theres no HCS skin for it.
For the view models I think being able to make your spartan left handed might be a good addition
Ah my mistake. Regardless, armor coatings and visors being available for use on all cores would be nice and I don’t think it would impede 343s ideas of Halo canon.
-Playlists: FFA, Snipers, Swat, Slayer, BTB Heavies, Infection, Objective. Like really, must we ask for something that anyone in the community could make in 10 minutes?
-Radar is essentially useless, it needs a larger range. I can’t see people on it until I’m already dead in most instances.
-Maps… More of them. Port over old Halo maps like The Pit, Lockout, Guardian, etc…
-Remove Trueskill from social playlists. I don’t want to sweat EVERY TIME I even think about playing this game like H5. Trueskill is for ranked.
-Progression, watch YouTube or read literally any post on here or Reddit and you’ll hear all you need to hear.
-Stop randomizing weapon spawns. It’s frustrating because I can never gameplan for a match because all of the weapon and equipment spawns, not just power weapons, are randomized.
-Give free to play players SOMETHING to customize armor-wise. I have no problem buying the battlepass do long as it is not predatory in nature (like it is now). Free to play players will be 40 before they see a single armor set.
-Fix Custom Games.
-Prioritize forge. I am not a forger but allowing the community to make their own fun would do wonders for this games longevity.
-Personally, I think ttk is a little quick. It’s slow it by maybe 5-10%.
I would like an exclusive fullscreen mode, an option to reduce headbob when sprinting and something about the framerate feels off to me despite getting relatively high frames

As much as we all hate progression. The performance issues. Specifically the game constantly crashing. Then leading to player bans needs to be addressed
Weapon sandbox improvements:
Sidekick - less/no bloom + ranged damage dropoff
BR - more bullet mag for KBM to help balance against controller (unless they nerf strafe acceleration then no change)
Commando - no bloom, but add recoil patterns that can be learned to increase skill gap
Ravager - damage increase on primary and faster charged shot
Plasma carbine - option to toggle burst fire/full auto so it can play more like a storm rifle in CQC
Plasma pistol - emp and better tracking on charged shot
Heatwave - faster projectiles or more damage
Bulldog - add a double shot alt fire with a significant cooldown, like an all or nothing attack
Sentinel beam - Give it a push back effect on players and vehicles like a repulsor beam of sorts, also maybe a little less recoil
If I didn’t list it, then no changes.
The RADAR! I can’t even see the radar cause it’s so small on-screen right now, and even worse, the range is so tiny, by the time you see someone on it they’re almost close enough to melee you. I really hope 343 fixes the smallness of it, both in UI and in range; it needs to be the full 25m again, in all game modes.
Also, the lack of grenade indicators to tell you there’s a hostile grenade nearby makes this game very confusing and hard to know what’s going on, especially since now that there’s no Friendly Fire, some grenades don’t damage you.
it promotes cheesing the game, cant fight 2 guys strafing into each other, cant do anything a guy lunging through his team mate to get a kill. Its terrible game design.
stronger vehicles, better battle pass ( it is only good 20 ranks from 99, and i even bought the premium battle pass ) challenges to complete when done with the weekly ones.
