Now is it appropriate to compare S-IV's to PR's?

With the new Power Rangers movie coming out, they’ve been given the Iron-Man and Michael Bay makeover. Adorning their once simple attire with random pieces of armor to look busy and complex. Now that they look like this, is it more appropriate to accurately compare them to our…beloved Spartan-IV’s? I mean I’ve seen people defend the Power Rangers because they looked gangster, but this new appearance is far more similar. >:)
What do you guys say??

EDIT: You can’t deny those OG rangers are killing that picture! They’re either sending death threats to villains everywhere with those poses or just giving the Colonial Marines a simple run for the most BADASS MF’s alive!

I mean, I still will never understand the whole Power Rangers comparison because, unless you use Defender, War Master, Wrath, or a few other helmets, you’ll never have a damn face on your helmet and in most instances Power Ranger armor appears to be made of cloth with some armor vs entire suits of metal and plastics that only genetically modified humans can actually wear…

The Power Rangers comparison has always been appropriate; more so since the introduction of more hideous alien-looking armors in Halo 5: Guardians.

I’d rather my Spartan not look like a Power Ranger. I preferred the more utilitarian look of Halo: Reach’s Spartan-IIIs.

All franchise with armor, are all trying to become.
Sleeker and more advanced looking.

They will eventually start to look alike .

Power ranger armor? cough hayabusa!
cough Osiris

Recon has always somewhat looked like a power ranger, infact ever since halo 4 my friends and I called anyone who wore that helmet a power ranger

I love how people compare the GEN 2 MJOLNIR to Power Ranger Armor even though Power Ranger armor consists of a colored body suit with a helmet and a breastplate (might be knee plates too if I recall). It’s incorrect to even call it “armor,” honestly. In fact, the armor from Reach (Mark V (B)) is closer in terms of visual look to Power Ranger Armor, because of how subtle and streamlined the armor plating is.

Haha, I remember so many people freaking out about Haybussa being too much like a Power Ranger figure.

I loved it regardless.

But this is obviously something that should stick with Halo. Spartans looking like actual Spartans, big, bulky, and full of mass. Now that’s a Spartan.

Honestly, take the suits from the new power rangers movie and add them as an armor in Halo 5 but call them something weird and they’d fit right in. I’m not saying any of the armors in Halo in particular look like the Power Rangers but rather the style of it. How the power ranger suits could work in Halo 5 now.

I mean… they still don’t look very similar… if anything, they look more like someone took Tony Stark’s various different Iron Man armors and just stuck more glowy bits and Power Ranger bits on.

If you were comparing them to Post-Disaster-era mobile suits (like the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos and its various armor configurations), I could maybe agree… but even then… not really.

People called that Power Ranger armor too.

I see no resemblance.

Yeah, but that’s been designed to look like the new Transformers movies, like most stuff these days. The comparison existed long before the new movie was even announced, and even looking at the new movie suits I can say the resemblance isn’t really there. I could put a bunch of armor on Spiderman and call it similar; that’s your logic right now and if you have to add a qualifier like that to something to make it sound reasonable, than it’s a poor analogy.

Why? What about Reach’s armor looks even remotely similar to a Power Ranger? The comparison for Spartan IV’s comes from the high number of overall flashy and ridiculous looking helmets (many of which have absurd visors, a ton of little hooks/clips (I guess?) or protruding parts that are purely cosmetic) and armors they have available.

Whereas Reach S-III armor was more militarized (pouches, straps, armor plates, ghillie hoods, etc.) and helmets were very simple and looked to be designed for a specific purpose.

Hence why it’s a stupid criticism.
