Free-To-Play means Halo is starting to step into the spotlight again. It’s already attracting the attention of the Battlefield and Call of Duty communities and others. The number of new players is going to be very refreshing to see. All the new kids, playing and experiencing Halo for the first time whether they’re familiar with the legendary shooter or not. It’s gonna be awesome to see. Thoughts on this?
it will be very easy to become champion at the start of the game if you know how to play.
As long as the content is good (and monetization is fair) as well as anti cheat being good, I cant wait to see tons of people play for the first time that may have never considered buying halo before. Even if i have to deal with more squeakers, as long as they’re having fun ill be happy. I was one of them once lol

I intentionally did alot of comp Halo 5 so that I could be at the top of my game for Infinite, and I ended up getting Champ for the first time. So yeah, pretty stoked to roll into ranked lobbies whilst sporting my Watchdog coating and wipe the floor.
Sorry newbies
WE GET TO RAISE THE NEXT GENERATION OF SPARTANS LET’S FUUUUUUU*KING GOOOOOOOOOO
I’m a little worried about how the MTX might progress. Halo 5 already had me worried about it but then this, eh…
…that being said, I’m hopeful it’ll be a positive change. Halo is a game that really needs a healthy community, it’s so hard for new players to crack into as it is without only getting matched against sweaters who have been playing Halo non-stop for almost 20 years. Hell, it’s hard for returning players to crack back into. I think it’s a very exciting and positive change.

A lot of people are not ready for the pain. Hopefully the training can help them, but I would love to see data about the new Halo player’s retention.

We’re getting some great looking gear as a result of it, I wouldn’t worry. The MTX seems pretty fair in implementation anyway (no word on pricing yet!)

Curious how this will effect SBMMR or if they will do a reset after the first season.
I can hold my own but I’m in no way a champion player and I really don’t want Infinite to be a sweat fest because just being a vet was enough at the start
I cant wait for all the new players. I love going into modes with no radar to flank the enemy team and assassinate at least one of them.
Noob Harvest time!!

From what we’ve heard I agree.
I’ve said that about a lot of games though, and they’ve started off fine, but become not so fine down the line.

Basically lol. If you’re a good player you’ll want to get a lot of time in early to take advantage of it. I already know a few people who have never played a Halo game that will be playing Infinite, so hopefully the new players stick around. Not only for the easy kills at first, but also to grow the game in the long run.
