Now a boring game?

Who else thinks that Halo 5 has become a boring game since it does not receive content updates or anything new?
I would say that they should show an advance of Halo 6 since not only the game is in a state of low activity, but also the whole community itself.
What do you think?

I think we have enough content updates. But I usually play Custom games to keep the boredom away

The game is well over 2 years old. It’s kinda to be expected now that things are getting really dry. My only motivations that keep me going in H5 are getting the Achilles helmet and reaching SR 152.

I can honestly care less about the achievements given how boring the campaign was.

I don’t really think that new content needs to be added. Other than gametypes that should have been there at launch, 343i didn’t really add anything that Forge can’t add now. A lot of the community made Forge maps that have been added recently are better than the 343i made Remix maps that we got during the content release period, and 343i is still adding new community made Forge maps into matchmaking all the time. What needs to happen though, is that whenever a new batch of Forge maps is added, 343i needs to show them off somehow. Ideally through a stream. Make it a big deal when new maps get added, even if they’re Forge maps, and weight them in Matchmaking for a week or two so that it feels new. Nothing is worse for new maps than being buried by the maps that came before.

Well not for me just got back in. After playing battlefield hardline for 2 months. it still has alot of players for Halo 5 and hardline.

The community being able to create maps for the game is one of Halo’s strong points and I feel like 343 isn’t taking full advantage of it. I agree that the community made forge maps are better than the remixed maps 343 came up with. I understand that a map has to be tested thoroughly before being put into matchmaking, but there are so many quality forgers in the Halo community that you would expect more community made maps to be in the game (specifically talking about “real” playlists, not things like infection or action sack). Also I agree that they need to mention new community made maps whenever they’re added. I don’t even know what new maps there have been in the past 6 months if there even have been any. Basically, the community wants more maps, and they are willing to make more maps, so 343 should take advantage of this resource to its full potential.

well with this weapon tuning thing going on right now … having to learn a whole new game play style is a pain … so yeah it is getting kinda boring as of late … stepping away and playing something else for a few weeks may help…

100%. It’s a huge component of the Halo community that allows game to succeed for years after the dev stops directly supporting the game. Bungie did the same thing. They added maps, but never talked about them, so you’d go into matchmaking and get maps that you’ve never heard of before, and they’d be decent.

I don’t know what the behind-the-scenes is like at 343i, but I feel like it’s reasonable to have a once a month live stream/content release like before. Just this time it could be 2-4 Forge maps. On their side all it takes is testing, which is a real time sink, but not nearly as much of an investment as art, level designers, testers etc.

EDIT: And it seems like they’re already doing the testing for maps. They add Forge maps on a semi-regular basis. They only real new hurdle would be the live stream.

No. Most games don’t get content updates? Back when halo had a bigger population in the older titles they never had content updates only a few dlcs. So clearly it’s not because of content updates. Plus I don’t want them to rush halo6. I don’t want a unfinished product

Considering I don’t play it anymore and haven’t in a long while, I would have to say I agree. It’s not because the lack of content updates, though; more about the game itself. Destiny 1 kept getting content updates but I was bored with it again a few weeks after the new content dropped.

I just took a long break and coming back the gameplay got refreshed a little bit for me

not boring, just disappointing to the point of frustration. There are better games more worthy of our limited time right now that aren’t littered with bugs / inconsistencies

I play a 1-3 times a week maybe and I’m not bored really. I don’t play for achievements, or unlocking Achilles, or trying to get to level 152…no…I play because I enjoy it. I play because I like playing with my friends. All those other things will most likely just come if you play. When you’re pretty much forcing yourself to play something, I think it’s time to play something else or do something else entirely.

There are very few things in life that you can do everyday, and not find it boring at some point.

343I need to just focus on Halo 6 now.

I find halo 5 more frustrating than boring.

It doesn’t really need more content updates with REQ’s or maps (although it would be nice). Just give us different playlists, gametypes and maybe some new Firefight rounds.

I just try my hardest to break multiplayer maps now. Other than that, breaking campaign also helps keep my boredom away a bit.

Boy, do I have to agree with this. Except to say that as the frustration becomes so utterly predictable then the boredom gets piled on top of it. Then again, I’ve been at this for a long time now, so who would have thought that frustration + boredom = successful gaming franchise?
