So there was a recent title update that was 256 Mb… Let me recap everything this fixed.
- Fixed an issue where player Loadouts would reset back to default
- Fixed an issue where players in Forge were unable to see other players while in Monitor mode
- Fixed an issue where the Mark V, Prefect, and Ricochet forearm armor would display incorrectly
- Fixed an issue where Champions Bundle armor sometimes disappeared in networked War Games matches
- Fixed an issue where Champions Bundle armor appeared incorrectly in Theater film clips.
Now, does this sound like 256Mb of data? I’ve seen game updates in other games that fix considerable amount more than this, and are only 50Mb. The Champions bundle was 355 Mb, and included 2 new maps, new gametype, new stances, and weapon designs. So what is in this title update that made it so massive?
If you already knew the answer and put it as the first answer in your poll, then why post this thread?
It’s a packet of secret alien code meant to monitor your K/D so our extraterrestrial overlords can laugh at your badness.

Don’t forget those dogs who followed them!
But really the first answer is the best description.
Because to me, that seems the least likely of the three. If there was a fault in the models, then they would never appear correctly. All that is wrong is the coding that states how the model should be read. That coding is minuscule compared to the size of the model.
I’ve talked to multiple friends about this, and no one can help justify why those 5 issues would be such a large file. Do you honestly think that coding for the armor pieces took up 2/3 of the data in the Champions bundle? And that they had to re-upload ALL of it?
Nobody here really knows how hward or easy that fix/patch was. People judge 343i for being a bit slow or having heavy amount of TU with stuff, but in reality we don’t know -Yoink-. At least I don’t. I can’t imagine 99% of the community being Professionals with C++ or coding in here.
I’m not judging them at all. Something just feels out of place to me here. Trust me, I love Halo, and fully support 343 in the route they are taking. I love the campaign and I have the utmost respect for how Halo 4 turned out for it being there first game to have developed.

This!
The fixes listed in the 11.11 TU Change List were the only things included in TU.

As well as the Spartan models coding being fixed, the .map files for EVERY map in the game would also have to be rewritten to make sure the armour shows correctly in first person view. Plus there was the problem with some armours not showing at all in theater mode, so those problems as well as the character animations for that armour, would also have to be fixed to make them appear in theater mode.
