Noticed some things watching Warzone

So far, it looks great! Really fun! Can’t wait to play it. I noticed a few things watching it.

In the Reqs menu, it says everything in plurals, like “Assault Rifles” and “Magnums.” Could this mean there will be multiple types of each weapon? Maybe legendary versions of them like I’ve heard? Same with vehicles.

Also, noticed the new medals we can earn. Nice! Noticed one called “Triple Double.” Didn’t really pay attention to what he did to get it. Just saw it pop up and thought it was cool. Wonder what it means.

And I love the concept of shoulder charging to open certain doors. Really cool!

Lastly, I’ve said this a lot, but I can’t get over it. The elite in the banshee is called Baron 'Sraom. He flys a red banshee. He is the Red Baron! It’s an allusion to a famous deadly German fighter pilot from WWI. I though that was clever.

Saw that to, hopefully it’s just for the diffrent skins on your weapons…I hope to god its not “perk” like traits for weapons. I’m scared now.

I believe it is. But that’s only in Warzone, not the regular multiplayer stuff. That’s going to remain balanced with equal starts and such. You can get different sights. I know there are legendary weapons and other tiered ones as well (like Kelly’s shotgun or Linda’s sniper). Go watch The Sprint on Halo Channel if you have it, they talk about it in one of the episodes.

There are multiple weapon variants in Warzone, and only in Warzone.

There are BRs/DMRs with different scopes and SMGs with no scopes. And that’s what we know so far. It does make the weapons act differently (like we know for a fact there’s a BR variant that increases unzoomed RRR and has a different sight).

There are also Mythic weapons, like Linda’s sniper rifle or Kelly’s shotgun. The God Pistol from CE may be in the game.

OMG IF THE HALO CE PISTOL IS A POWER WEAPON I WOULD GIVE 343 MY UTTER RESPECT

Not actually a new medal, it was in Halo: Reach. You could obtain it by getting double-digit kills, assists and headshots. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Triple_Double_medal

In Warzone, there are multiple variations of each weapon. It appears that each weapon has a base model, two tiers, and a “mythic” variation, too. To what extent these weapons differ from the base model of the weapons, is currently unknown, however, each model boasts a different weapon camo, and some mythic weapons have different models (ie, the SPNKR Rocket Launcher, and Prophet’s Bane Energy Sword.).

It can be assumed, however, that each different tier of weapon will have different stat changes, and have a different function, but it is still unknown as to how much of an impact these tiers will have on the weapon’s base performance. One example would be that the scopes on the Battle Rifles change depending on what tier is chosen, so that could open up the possibility for a longer ranged version of the weapon, but it is still unknown as to whether or not these tiers will be straight up upgrades, or more like sidegrades, with benefits and drawbacks that come with each variation.

These tiered weapons, however, will only be usable in Warzone (maybe custom forge maps, too), and will not be featured in arena modes. Skins, however, can be used in both.

Very interesting. Dang, I hope we can forge all variants of each weapon. I’d imagine they would when their make them available in the game period.

That being said, I wonder what each variant of weapon will look like. Maybe a variety of the original SMG from 2 and 3 or the suppressed variant from ODST? Or what if they include the original design of the battle rifle from 2 and/or 3? Or the MA37 Assault Rifle from Reach? Now I’m REALLY excited.

I think they are leaning less towards weapon variants with canon/lore based visuals and more towards colorful, flashy, and easily recognizable. For instance in The Sprint they showed a Blue SMG, a shotgun with red and green stripes, and plasma pistols and needlers with abstract designs. Think Halo 4 type weapon skins.

Ah, that’s a sad face. I imagined since one of the legendary weapons is the original SPUNKr rocket launcher, we’d get skins of other weapons’ original designs.

If you take a close look at the REQ menu you should find that DMR symbol on it is actually with a BR sight !

Actually I think he i named after one of the guys on the development team, can’t remember in which interview, there were alot during E3 but they did mention they wanted to surprise the guy with it because he didn’t know they put his name in the game.

In the sprint they heavily hinted at having the Halo 1 pistol as a special weapon. For the community feedback program I actually said to them that you should include the Halo 1 pistol;)

Pretty sure that the plural “assault rifles” and such merely refers to the fact that you have req card"s" in your inventory that have Assault Rifles in them. SO you have three assault rifle req cards, you therefore have 3 assault rifles.

Oh, well, that’s kinda lame. I mean, if they really look at it, they’ll see what they did. Accidental allusions are still good, but that’s still kinda lame.
