343 needs to seriously lax on their connectivity “rules.” This -BLAMED- maybe it’s just me.
It’s cool, just ignore me. I’m the minority. It’s weird that bf4 works perfectly with twice as many player though. HUH?
Anybody have any helpful advice here?
Hi Wake,
I’am willing to try and help you but need some info first.
How do you have your connection setup is it wired or wireless
Do you use a static IP or random
Who is your internet service provider
What are your current network statistics
NAT TYPE
Upload
Download
Latency

Maybe you can help me i’ve been seeing people shoot me around walls, before I can see them even when I’m waiting, Hits counters going off but no damage to the player, and when the shields break no matter how many headshots or body shots I put into someone with a BR they will not die even from behind they just turn around and kill me like i’m not doing anything.
I’m on wireless(going to be switching to wired soon),
I believe it is a random IP,
NAT Type is OPEN
Download is 25.95 mbs - 32.00 mbs
Upload is 2.5-5mbs
and latency is 104 constant.
provider is BrightHouse, and I’m using their modem my router.
Hey wake I saw some issues around launch. Like the person above asked what is the info you get when you run the detailed test on the one? Also are you using your own equipment or the stuff your ISP gave you? Also who is your internet provider?

What brand is the modem? I am with time warner and a lot of people with Motorola modems have been having issues. I bought my own netgear modem and have had problems ever since.

I would check the hardware information section on Xbox.com to confirm the hardware your using (router, modem, ECT) is compatible and surported.
here is the link below to the hardware page
http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_support/networking-hardware/default.aspx
I also use wireless at my house. Since your NAT type is open and I assume your using a default configuration you could try to optimize your connection. By setting up a static IP and port forwarding from your router.
here are the ports iam forwarding
Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP)
Port 500 (UDP)
Port 3544 (UDP)
Port 4500 (UDP)
you you can find more info on this here
http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/network-ports-used-xbox-live
If the static IP and port forwarding don’t increase your speeds then you can just revert back to a default connection by disconnecting and setting up your connection again with default settings.
If possible I would try a wired connection first to see if that fixes the problem.
If you do set up a static IP and port forwarding you’ll need to reconnect to the singal then retest your connection to see the new connection stats.
Another thing to keep in mind if using wifi is all the other devices connected and eating up your bandwidth. If this an issue you could replace it with a surported multi band router and reserve one just for your console.
good luck
hope I am helpful
Just to add this since I know how frustrating connection issues are, if you have a single Xbox one on your network then setting up a static IP and port forwarding through your router will help with any firewall issues. If you have multiple Xbox ones you will need to have a router that supports uPnP and you cannot port forward. There are a number of online guides on how to do this.
It is VERY difficult to get a stable wireless connection to work perfectly. I think you should start with running a wire to your Xbox and if that doesn’t resolve your issue explore other options.
I have had no issues running multiple xboxes for halo 5 so the issue is most likely not their servers. Here is a list of potential problem points that I try to follow when I have connection issues.
Your Xbox (game install or hardware issues).
Your router. (Try connecting directly to the modem to rule out router issues.)
Your modem. (Others mentioned specific modems with issues)
The physical hardware that connects your modem to your ISP. (More of something you ISP handles)
Your ISP.
Any hop or location your ISP connects to to connect you to the halo servers.
Xbox live or halo dedicated servers.
Hopefully that helps any.
I see ClanKilla187 posted the ports, if your router does not allow 80 to be forwarded don’t worry about that one.
Hey sorry guys I didn’t realize I actually got replies. There’s a 37 page post that has caught 343’s attention.
Just for gits and shiggles I’ll let yinz know my NAT is open by means is forwarded ports. Even tried enabling DMZ for a bit which created completely different problems. No other game lags or disconnects whatsoever. No packet loss, 30down 6up everything is perfect. Surprisingly, I’m not with TWC.
This is definitely on 343’s end, folks.
Otherwise, if anybody has questions about their network settings, NAT type, etc. I don’t mind trying to help
