They want to be efficient in gaining rewards, they don’t care about elo or anything else, just the reward. Go and tell somebody to do a job, even if it starts fun, they won’t keep doing it if they aren’t rewarded, and if they get rewarded for stacking one box or one hundred for example, do you think they’ll stack 100 just for the fun of it? If you want things to change, they ask the boss to pay you more whem you stack more boxes, don’t call someone stupid because they are doing less work and getting payed the same as you. Does it suck? Yes? But the system has made it that way, not the person.
Winning is fun. Proving that you are better than the enemy is fun. That’s the incentive right there. That should be the only incentive that is needed to play a video game.
The individuals I refer to are ruining match and causing harm to the game and the game would be better off without them.
I agree that it’s nice when a progression system rewards you and that you should be rewarded for engaging with the game in a meaningful manner but this should not take priority over the actual game. When it does, that’s an addiction. That’s not good for you

Why are you comparing this to a job? This isn’t a job, this is a video game. Why are these silly digital rewards being assigned value all of a sudden.? They are absolutely worthless, It is absolutely stupid to prioritize a silly reward that means absolutely nothing and takes away from the system it’s attached to in the first place.
If I were to run a mile extremely fast then cut off my legs as a reward, that would be dumb right? It’s a similar situation here
Most players enjoy the “silly digital rewards” because they add ADDITIONAL value to your time in game. A job definitely isn’t the right comparison. You shouldn’t mix work and play.
Most people like dessert just for the dessert, but a lot of people enjoy dessert with a scoop of ice cream. Especially when it was advertised that there was going to be a ton of flavors to augment your dessert, just for enjoying the dessert. But when you get to dessert, turns out that you have to wait a long time for those extra flavors or pay for them. How much dessert you have or how much you enjoy it still doesn’t add to you ice cream.

See I agree with you here. I do enjoy these silly digital rewards, I want to be able to customize my spartan to look cool. I specifically take issue with not engaging with the game in a meaningful way because the way of getting those cosmetics is completely unreasonable.
To play into your analogy, would you take your desert and throw it in the face of whoever you are eating with because you didn’t get your scoop of ice cream? Not the chef, not the waiter, but the person you decided to go out to eat with that just wants to enjoy the dessert as well
At this point, you’d have already gotten 1000+ xp for the day and earned a level in the pass, probably played for a good hour and a half, maybe two.
Take a break from BTB at that point and play some ranked, you’ll be gaining a decent amount of progress towards the higher ranks there.

Throwing things is akin to going afk in a match to farm xp. It’s your contribution towards making things worse. That’s what I’m getting at here. I can hardly believe that actually needed to be stated. Just wow
And while no I don’t feel attacked, I’m definitely upset when I go into a match and have afk teammates. Why should I have to suffer afk teammates this often because they want customization options? Why should I pretend that 343 is the only one at fault for this?
Point out the things that need improvement and I’m right there with you. The second you use that criticism as justification for terrible behavior then I can’t side with you anymore.
