Nothing but bad luck.. or is it?

I can’t be the only one who feels like this. No matter what you do, no matter how well you play, the Guardians are always out to get you. I feel as if this game contains nothing but bad luck. Time after time I find myself in situations that are completely out of my control, of which many times these circumstances cost me the match. Whether it be spawning in a BTB or Warzone game and being immediately sniped or splattered, running into the one person on the map with a shotgun camping in a corner in a very sparsely traversed location, being constantly put on teams of quitters, constantly being put on teams where my team mates refuse to play the objective, being matched against Onyx and Diamond ranked players when the highest player on my team is a Plat 3, being grenade spammed by 3 people throwing 10 grenades at you, having a frag grenade be magically magnetically attracted to you so when you can actually manage to find cover it bounces on a wall at an impossible angle and explodes with the power of a nuclear warhead, spawning into a grenade explosion which kills the teammate you just spawned behind leaving you to be spawn killed as well, doing the vast majority of damage to a Warzone boss only to have an enemy get the final shot, etc. etc. etc. I could go on and on and on.

I just don’t understand why there’s so much randomness. It does not make for a good experience. I play to win and I feel like I get cheated a lot, and not because I’m being necessarily outplayed. If I lose a firefight fairly or a close game that was good all through out, I can take that. But being at or near the top of the leaderboard in the majority of games I play and still losing constantly is extremely frustrating. Just as an example, I’ve played 3 games today so far. The first was a slayer match where I went 16-6 and I still lost. The next was Assault where my team refused to use team work and decided to go lone wolf (everybody was in party chat except me as well), so we lost because the other team was at least a little coordinated. The third was Strongholds where we started off extremely well, getting 2 total controls within the first 2 minutes. We were up by probably 30-40 points when one of my team mates randomly quit, and there went the game. I’m just sick of the randomness. Unfortunately for me, my competitiveness forces me to keep playing until I can actually win. I don’t want to stop playing because I do love Halo and have loved it for over a decade, but the randomness of this game just baffles me.

Bad luck to me is getting Torque selected

You wanna trade getting Torque selected for getting stuck on a team of people who are Level 3, 12, and 13 and only get 1 kill each.

I feel the same way. Bought a 1 TB HD for my One and installed Reach and started playing that MP. None of this stuff like that back there. I think in a lot of ways it’s lack of map flow in almost all of 343’s maps.

I know exactly what you mean. I have games the same, or times when I play alone I am matched with 3 others who get a neg score and enemy team have poss like 18-5 etc. (why do the good players never get put on my team).

Sucks.

It seems as though every other match I find myself saying “that was the luckiest grenade I’ve ever seen” or “that was the worst spawn I’ve ever seen”.

Grass is always greener, op.

When getting ranked in FFA I had to exit my game 4 times in a row cause it kept selecting torque.
Worst FFA map ever.

I sell my random reqs now because I never seem to get cool stuff other people get. lol

I feel your pain, I really do. But there are a few things that you can do to improve things. Firstly, get good team mates instead of playing solo. It’s been said time and time again on this forum, and there is a recruitment section for it. That will at least help with the quitting problem.

Secondly, with all the bad luck you’re probably forgetting all the good luck that you have. All the one shots, the triple kills, the unsuspecting enemies with their backs to you etc. Luck is a factor in most games, and it’s great when it’s on your side but you can’t rely on it.

True, but the good should outweigh the bad. And getting a lucky multikill or grenade once in a while is great, but when you find yourself having at least one or two of the crazy circumstances every game, it’s a little ridiculous.

Also, I can’t play enough to really be someone who can utilize the recruitment part of the forum. I work 50 hours a week and only get on one or two days, usually only for an hour or two at most. Nobody on my friends list really plays Halo, so I can’t really roll around with a regular team. Back in the days of Reach and for some of H4 I had regulars I played with, but those days are long gone.
