…and being thrown into the final round.
Is it really so bad to have join in progress as an option? Plenty of people want to get straight into the action, especially since you can start out with, like, REQ level 9 in the final round. All this does is make us waste our boosts.
Helpful hint. If you can’t see the background image for the map in the pregame lobby loading screen, you’re joining a match in progress.
More helpful hint, unless you’re absolutely confident in your ability to secure more kill than anyone else, gambit AI boost is better saved for regular WZ. The boost isn’t based on number of kills, it’s based on whether or not you have more than the person next to you. It doesn’t matter if you have 1 more kill or 100 more kills than the person in second place. First place gets the max bonus regardless.
Be like my buddy. He had one of those. Noctus. Warzone. We had all three bases. He slipped into the enemy base just as they were moving into one of our garages. The shields to their core raised up, but they did so with my buddy still inside. He camped in there for days, picking off the security detail as he saw them. Ended up getting a handful of medals and that sweet, juicy XP. 11,000 points of it.
If you allow Join in Progress as an option, then everyone will turn it off, and that means playlists with missing players are much less likely to be filled.
Helpful hint : there is a countdown (5 secondes) before the beginning of the game when you start from the beginning. There is no countdown when you’re about to get dropped in a game in progress. Use these few secondes to (de)activate your gambit
Also, max XP boost is sommething like 16 000 XP. It seems that the limit of AI kills is “low” (maybe 20 ?). I used it in regular warzone (Apex 7, about 30 marines dead) and in firefight (about 100 AI kills). Got the 16 000 XP boost both times.

If it’s as universally hated of a feature as you say, then it shouldn’t exist.
I know how you feel… but then you get the match where you get in the top 4 and you have it on an get like 27,000 XP
Can’t gambits be reused if you don’t finish in the top half after a match? I thought someone from 343 mentioned that after one of the updates
Idk but I keep using an ultra rare mission:victory boost and every time I use it ( I only ever had one) it is still there meanwhile I still get RP points it’s weird

I thought it was more.
