Not the Halo experience I was hoping for.

First of all, I want to say that I do enjoy this game very much. It’s not a terrible game by any means. But I do have a major problem with the new things it brings to Halo.

I really think they could have implemented the new features in a different manner that doesn’t ruin the classic Halo experience. For example, Ordinance Drops and Custom loadouts. I like the idea of Ordinance Drops, but the way they implemented them disrupts the Halo experience for me. Nothing is more annoying than seeing a whole team with power weapons. What happened to fighting for that one power weapon that spawns on the map? You had to earn it. Now you don’t have to worry about it because sooner or later, an Ordinance Drop is going to give you one.
With custom loadouts, now everyone has certain advantages and disadvantages. Halo has always been about being on the same level as everyone from the start. Everything was fair, no room for complaining because if your opponent had a better weapon, he earned it. No perks, no AA’s, no nothing! Custom loadouts don’t belong in Halo.

What they could have done with the Tactical/Support Packages and Armor Abilities, is have them specifically for Ordinance Drops. I would have been okay with Ordinance Drops if they weren’t earned so easily and you only earned things such as speed/damage boost, a tactical/support package, or an armor ability. They should be more of a challenge to get. If implemented like this, I don’t think it would have interfered with the classic Halo experience we all know and love. You earn them once, they run out, and you’re back to square one. But Power Weapons!!? A big NO NO. Leave those on the maps only.

Lastly, sprint doesn’t belong here either. It’s not a huge problem, but I don’t think Halo needs this and I feel 343 added sprint just for the sake of adding it like every other shooter does now and days. Halo has always distinguished itself from other shooters, it seems 343 is trying to do the opposite.

The people at 343 call themselves die hard Halo fans, but I really don’t understand why they decided to go away from the core Halo experience and make it more like other shooters. I really hope they change their minds about their current vision for this series, because the way it looks, Halo 5 is going to be even more different from the core Halo experience.

Just my 2 cents.
