Not sure what my issue is right now

I just have been having some trouble with this game. I am not big on rank just do it for fun. I am also not big on wins and loses. Just like to know that there is a chance to win. The last 2-3 days not so much.

My problem is fairly consistent. First, not likely the biggest part of the issue, is that my teams are consistently below my rank. While the other team is diamond and all that. And the other team has been full PC versus my teams which are all Xbox. Really wish crossplay could be turned off because I can say for 100% I have hit several cheaters at recently.

The problem is more with the games consistency. I checked connection and everything is checking fine. 800+ Mbps down and 600+ Mbps up. Low latency. No packet loss. And all that stuff. But I can drop a players shields and then hit nades and just more shots and they never die. Even have teammates come around and have to shoot them 3-4 more bursts from the BR to kill them.

Had one where it was CTF. 3 of the 4 were guarding their flag. I was popping shots as teammates chased their other guy with our flag. They were hitting this player. I see them coming with downed shields. I put a grenade in the players path for a hit. 3 BR bursts later the player deposits the flag for the win. No amount of damage was stopping this player. Cheating? Cannot say. But it was either that or the game has some issue. They were getting hit by myself and other teammates. Shields gone.

This stuff has been consistent recently. I was in one at the beginning when all this started. I hit over 60% of my shots. I am hitting mostly on the head. And the player just eats all of them. And having teammates shooting them. I was in with a friend and came around on this player. Popped some shots in the back of the head, melee, and then they kill me. Had just ate from my teammate and killed them. We both had vids. of our play and we were both definitely hitting. Shields were down for this player. After they got a huge lead 40-8 it seemed to fix. Shots were now doing what they should. We came back and made it a respectible 50-37 game.

Just not sure what is going on. I painstakingly shot less shots to make sure I was getting very high accuracy. Very, very few missed shots. Should have had an accuracy of at least 70%+ and the game said I had my worst ever at 28%. Never been anywhere near that low. Getting the hit marks. I can only assume that this is why I am not getting the kills on players with downed shields. Even melee in the back on a hiding player with dropped shields does not always kill now.

I see vids on reddit and other places of people getting kills on a full health enemy in much less shots than it is taking me now.

Have other players been seeing this at all?

Do no really want to uninstall and reinstall even though it would not take long. But mght give that a try.

The game has desync issues not because of you, but because of the servers 343 is on. They’re not fully dedicated from what I can tell because I have been having hit registration issues. You can really tell when you use the commando, or when you melee, and it doesn’t go off. Just last match I was using the mangler point blank at someone, saw the shots hit the target, but there were no hit markers, and no damage done.

It’s the same with HCS tournaments right now. I saw one of the pro players use a rocket launcher, shoot it, and guess who dies? The player who has the rocket launcher even though he’s farther away from the blast radius, and he was aiming point blank at the enemy player. Also, the tournament has been filled with crashes, and disconnects. There is definitely something up server side on Microsoft’s end and 343’s end.

I’d be curious to know how they are utilizing Azure servers as I am almost positive that is where their infrastructure is based out of.

It’s net code, it’s worse than H2’s. I matched against Royal 2 one match and he literally ate my rocket I shot at him. Then again he uses a geo filter :skull::sob:

In the ranked arena queue try switching from “open” to “solo/duo” queue and that changes the other option from crossplay to either your choice of KB/M or Controller users.

Perhaps that would help with the first part of your post.

Remember how MS hyped up the Azure infrastructure and basically guaranteed virtually zero-latency online gaming?

And now it’s 2022 and their own game plays absolutely awful on it

Listen, I play Halo Infinite 6+ hours everyday and these issues are what enrages me the most. I mean every game I am guaranteed to be 1 melee killed forward facing with full shields. The manglers 3rd shot NEVER registers as a hit even though its dead on target EVERY time. Can take 6+ hits with the BR with headshots only because it’s like the 3 shot burst doesnt register even with hit markers and audio queue. I can’t put into words how inconsistent and frustrating this Halo has/is to play. This is the first time in my 30+ years of gaming that I’ve ever experienced this total failure and inconsistency. SORT THIS OUT 343!!!

Having worked a bit with Azure, I can say it’s most likely the net code for infinite that is causing the desync and not the Azure infrastructure itself.
