- I can’t tell half the time if it’s user error, but it feels like weapon accuracy or bullet magnetism plummets after enemy shields take enough damage. I mean, red reticle at shotgun rushing distance in most games seems to matter less than other halo games.
- Call me old fashioned, but I prefer several of the old weapons over what we have now. The pulse carbine feels like a mix between the BR and plasma rifle, but like the stalker rifle, it just feels off having to lead the target with what may as well be, if not completely a precision weapon. Or the bulldog and how as far as I’ve seen can’t OHK and forces you to either shoot again or melee to secure the kill. In any other game, a shotgun that can’t one shot would be worthless. I’d much rather have the carbine/ needle rifle or plasma repeater over the pulse carbine and the beam rifle over the stalker. Cool weapons, poorly implemented imo.
- The skewer is a fun weapon, but feels like an instant fire version of the laser. Fun and satisfying.
- The commando kind of feels off regardless of range or zoom. Maybe I’m just a bad shot with it, I’d definitely take the BR over it any day. I can understand that the BR basically made the DMR obsolete in H4/ H5 and it feels like that’s what the commando is trying to do is replace the DMR as what feels like a power weapon in the right hands.
- The ravager feels like a downgraded mix between one of the fuel rods in H5 and the concussion rifle.
- The cindershot feels the same way between the incineration cannon and the grenade launcher.
- The other weapons like the disrupter and the shock rifle I’ll own up to user error.
- I actually like that you don’t get kicked out of zoom with weapons that don’t have scopes. Always hated that in H5, made it feel pointless for most weapons.
- Otherwise, customization and level progression I feel took a turn for the worst.
As the multiplayer is F2P, I won’t say how customization should be changed aside from increasing how quickly it progresses and more freedom on colors. As far as weapons go, I would like to see classics return eventually, but for current weapons, I would try to do the following if it’s not too late:
- Adjust accuracy and/ or range of bulldog to account for a buff to it’s damage to enable one shot kills just barely out of melee range at least.
- I’m not sure how to go about working with the pulse carbine and stalker rifle, but IF it could be worked into the weapons, I believe alternate firing modes might be a solution IF damage and projectile speed could be adjusted on zoom.
- The ravager I think could do with similar work to the last two weapons. Holding the charge to combine multiple shots into one, remove the lingering AOE damage and add that to the weapon.
- As for the cindershot? I can’t really think of anything that doesn’t make it either stupidly powerful or nerf it into the ground in the attempt to balance out the buff to allow one shots on direct hits.
- I want to say it’s just when I’m not paying attention, but I never had this problem in CE-H4. Please do something about the radar. Half the time since H5, it feels like it doesn’t detect people until they’re 8 meters away from me, and halo taught me to watch it very closely.
