Not Reach.5, Halo 3.5, But Halo 2.5+3

Innovation in the video game business is always a good idea. Fans will always be coming back to your sequels if you keep the story changing, and the mechanics enhanced.

Halo 2 was very fun to me. Me and my 3 brothers would go to this place called “Open Gym” it was quite odd though because it wasn’t as much gym as it was a “system link Halo 2 4v4 In the weight room” We would go their every day of the summer when it was open and we would just play for the 5 hours that open gym lasted. It was amazingly fun, me and my 3 brothers all agreed this was the best and funnest game any of us ever played, it was addicting, you wanted to go back to the xbox and play again after a match. It was just such a great multiplayer.

Then Halo 3 lived up to its hype, with many cool additions and a few not so great additions, it was still a very heart pounding meaningful experience to play it. Especially when i got xbox live finally in 2008, it was unbelievably playing not with 1 other friend at my house, but 15 other players! It was extremely fun to me and since i got xbox live me and my friend would play that game on LIVE all day from when we woke up until we went to sleep. And then forge? After a couple of days of downloading xbox live someone invited us to a custom game of infection on this really cool map on foundry. at first i thought they were modding or something, but they said “I made it in forge” and i thought “How?” since i didn’t try forging on foundry yet at the time. and then i started making all these maps of my own.

Halo was an experience, not just a video game. Halo reach brought many cool additions to the table, but it also took out some fan favorites.

Grav lifts,
dual wielding,
bleedthrough,
overshield being noticable,
oversheilds and camo being on maps,
being able to walk with camo and not being noticed or coming up on radar,
replacing hornet with under powered falcon
changing the controls to fit armor abilities
no fall damage
and many other changes which really took away from the game instead of adding to it.

please, make halo 4 like you did halo 2 and 3, just ADD things to it, don’t take away things (except armor abilties) but just add new features and add new things.

I don’t think your the only one who prefers certain aspects of Halo 3 & 2 two Halo Reach. I really do hope 343 listen to the community as much as Bungie did. I liked the idea behind AA’s but they were not implemented well enough. Sprint was good but Armor Lock not as much the same with jetpack it just changed the core Halo feel too much.

yes and equipment was a good idea i liked how it didn’t tamper gameplay while slightly spicing it up.

AA’s made it way to spicy tho. It tampered the -Yoink- out of gameplay

I think people should be more open to AA’s the ones in Reach in my opinion are a fail, However if I was working on the game then I would look into reinventing them as pickups like equipment and with the following:

  • Pulse (A 10 meter shield depleting pulse also kills radar 1 use only)
  • Regenerator (A 10 meter healing pulse that causes instant shield recharge pulse lasts 1 second only 1 use)
  • Invisibility ( 1 use 15 seconds runtime)
  • Overshield ( 1 use depletes in 10 seconds)

Ok, just to point out something, 343 didn’t make Halo 2, and I don’t think they had a part in Halo 3.

Now Dual wields, yes, I enjoyed them, but I found them to be annoying.

Overshields, I do want to be able to see if some one has overshields.

Cloak, I like the cloak how it is in Reach as far as being seen when moving, it keeped people from running around a open map with a shot gun, and not be seen until they fire the shot gun. But in case it can be done, I say there should be two cloaks, one is a power up that makes you cloaked even when you move around, people can’t pick you up on radar, but it lasts 25 seconds when standing still, 15 when moving, and there should be a Cloak that is equipment, it acts like the cloak in Reach, you move it fades so you can be seen, but it lasts a full 30 or more seconds. Also, I think they should see about making the cloak look nicer >.> I remember the one time I got the cloak to work in Halo PC, it looked like the Chief was made of glass to me, but every one else I saw nothing until I moved too fast. Reach’s cloak it looks old and sad.

The Hornet, people love the hornet, but hate the Falcon, the falcon isn’t under powered, at lest the campaign falcon, the campaign falcon was just as powerful if not more powerful than the Hornet.

As far as the controls go, I love the control set up for Reach, well at lest the Recon lay out, it’s close to the older Halo set ups, and it matches with the control set up for Crysis 2.

No fall damage, I think it should still be there, it just needs to be nurfed, or have an option in the game type settings to turn it off.

Grav lifts, that, I don’t mind, I liked man cannons, and grav lifts, and but, I don’t use them that much.

Now here’s some things that I’m going to add to your list. Game Types, I want Race to stay in the game, and I want to see it in it’s old set up, not this “a vehicle will spawn for you if you fall out” crap, I want it like the old days where you could race in a tank, or in a banshee, or even on foot.

MP Sniper Night vision, I want it back, I want night vision like Halo ODST had for the sniper rifle.
I want more settings for game types, and in Firefight.
I also want to be able to lower my weapon in Custom games, not match making, just in custom games.
Also, I want a better firefight mode, I want it more than 4 players, 6 or 8 maybe, I want a weapons cash, and ammo cash, I want to see more human vehicles in firefight than just the missile hog and the ATV.
I also want to be able to do more in Forge, I want to be able to make my own firefight maps, I want teams gone, and when in forge mode, you’re marked as a friend, not foe to every one.

I think dual wielding needs to come back, that made you feel so BA when you’d charge a group of enemies guns ablazing with the SMGs and mow them down. But if dual wielding did come back the weapons that use dual wielding can’t have bloom, otherwise they would be crazy inaccurate. But I wouldn’t be against bloom for more precise weapons like the BR.

Halo 3 is Halo 2.5.
CE has infinitely better gameplay than Halo 3.
