Not looking good for Halo 4.

-Recoil for BR.

Unnecessary. But as long as it’s going to be predictable, and not overly-exaggerated, I’ll give this feature a shot.

-Armor will not be purely cosmetic anymore.

No. This won’t work, in any playlist, in anything. This has never been anything that has ever been asked for. This has been something that’s been feared by Halo’s main fanbase and competitive population, and many other players in general.

This will just end up in players coming off of spawn unevenly. However ‘unevenly’ it may be, it’s a problem. This is not what Halo in its essence is. Halo:Reach was the only game to disobey this rule, and look how that turned out. It was the failure of the Halo series, and almost ended up being kicked off of the MLG circuit, when formerly, tickets used to sell out in less than five minutes to events. “Formerly” meaning pre-Reach.

-Slayer scoring system

Incase you haven’t figured it out yet, it is scored by a medal system (See: First Look). At one point when a player gets a kill, a headshot medal, and another medal that I couldn’t recognize each popped up onto the screen. Each medal was worth 5 points (deduced from the fact that each one had the number ‘5’ under it). When the player got a kill, their score increased by 10.

Say I get an assist, and my teammate, as a result, gets a kill. His headshot medal will be worth 5 points, my assist medal will be 3. Our team will gain eight points.

This is just stupid, unnecessary, and uncalled for. This will force teams to play slayer in an unnatural, and odd way, often opting for an assist rather than attempting to finish off a kill, like what should be done. Why are we being encouraged to not kill in a slayer game?

Firstly thats probably a new slayer type. Secondly don’t rage blindly about a game we hardly know anything about!

> Firstly thats probably a new slayer type. Secondly don’t rage blindly about a game we hardly know anything about!

I agree. Chill out. We haven’t even seen the core gameplay of the game. We’ve seen what like… 30 seconds of pure gameplay.

Give it a shot? Since when did every bullet a gun fires in succession travel perfectly straight?

We have played every Halo game just fine, this is going to change nothing.

> Firstly thats probably a new slayer type. Secondly don’t rage blindly about a game we hardly know anything about!

1.) Of course that’s a new slayer type…
2.)I’m not raging.
3.)I think we know enough to logically make a few conclusions. They may be wrong, because several things haven’t been confirmed. But I outlined my evidence, and my reasons.

How do you know if you never played it.

> How do you know if you nevver played it.

Actual Dream Crusher :D?

Well, I don’t have to play it.
We’ve seen videos, and we’ve had several key questions answered.

Because they TOLD us all of these things?

  1. Agreed

  2. Why don’t you wait a bit to see how this system works. For all we know the changes it makes could be so subtle that we don’t eve notice it. 343 have mentioned their intentions to keep everything balanced

3 we already have this in halo reach, albeit its just optional. Go into the gametype editor and youll see you can put bonus points for different kills. It doesn’t promote non killing but rewards you for killing in a special way

Non-cosmetic armor upgrades and point-based scoring system?

Good. Halo is finally catching up to mark Section 8 set back in 2009.

See here is the thing OP I understand you have worries but none of us have played the game we don’t know how the recoil will effect but recoil has been in almost all of the halos I said “almost” also we do not know what the truly mean about the armor so please calm down till you know defendant information or have played the game yourself.

> Because they TOLD us all of these things?

Yes we have never played it so we can’t judge it until after we see more or play it. You beat me to that point.

looks like you read one or two things from the bulletin and came here to rage for no reason, go back and read the rest

F-First Look?

why in the WORLD should halo be like section 8? why then, has section 8 not been a tenth as successful as halo?

Yea, and bungie said Armorlock, jetpack, and invis would be balanced too.

So much for that.

our new implementation of Slayer will score differently than the traditional 0-50 method of yore.

this was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Thanks for the bump, and giving me a reason to respond.

Well, Bungie liked to lie through their teeth back then.
