Not liking how H4 is seeming to come out...

First post in a long time, so take it easy and try not to get too mad. I am also in a squeeze for time, so I’m not going to elaborate on each topic very much. I also haven’t excessively analyzed the game, so some info could be wrong.

Aesthetically, the game looks horrible and choppy, the Spartan models look god awful, the Elites actually look like Dinosaurs now (Reach Elite models were PERFECT), the Grunts look quite horrible as well, the Sniper looks like a Nintendo/Old radio on top of a gun, and the game just doesn’t have that Halo “look”. If I were to just see the graphics and didn’t know I was watching Halo 4, I wouldn’t know it was Halo 4.

The motion tracker seems to have too much range. This combined with ProVis, makes it much too easy to find enemies at any time. I understand that this “Speeds up gameplay” but it also renders Flanking, or waiting for someone to pass so you can shoot them in the back, useless. Making any strategy concerning map placement for your team besides camping or holding an area useless as well.

I disdain the thought of Creating a class and level progression coming into the game as well. I play Halo because everybody starts with the same weapon, opposite sides of a map, and they go at each other. I don’t want to have some guys spawn with an Assault rifle just to get raped by someone who has a BR or DMR on them the entire game, especially if the DMR/BR user’s team as the same weapons. I could go on, but like I said I am in a squeeze for time. I am all for change in the Halo series (Hell, Reach is my favorite Halo ever), as long as the change is in a positive direction, which H4 doesn’t seem to be going in. I understand that 343 wants to be completely different from Bungie in the games, but they need to swallow their pride and realize that they had something great handed to them, and they need to improve upon it, rather than toss everything out of the window.

Man I really want to post a meme right about now.

Disagree on every point [that I read]. I had to skip all the unnecessary hate though, for health purposes.

Looks like Halo to me.

  1. All of the spartan types have had different armor styles, that is just the spartan IV style.
  2. Sounds like the standard, “i am a camper, and the motion tracker was bad enough for the play-style i need in order to get kills. But now there is promethean vision? how will i get kills now, and how could i do it and still make other people angry?”
  3. I believe that the standard loadout in H3 was the AR and the BR, and reach had choice involved in your loadouts.
  4. They still have the thing with the opposite parts of a map, there has been no reason to believe otherwise.

It is just a matter of opinion, some guys like where halo 4 is going, some do not.

The highlighted line just baffles me. If you can’t tell that it’s halo, open your eyes. However your concerns on the weapon spawning loadouts are also a concern of mine. The last thing i need it to be put on a team of all wielding AR’s while the other team has a bunch of BR spawners on their team destroying the scrub on my team. This will cause quitting and they better figure a way out on how to stop this from occurring or the new join while in progress feature will get a workout.

Cool hating bro’.

Gameplay matters more than looks.

I’m disappointed that Zealots are still red but if they can jump and melee as in CE, the change is fine by me.

I’m also disappointed with how high the damage was but the enemies have a reasonable amount of aggression (for a first encounter) and weapons look powerful (especially Forerunner weapons).

-Yoink- please, Stop hatting on 343 for the amazing changes they’ve done to the halo franchise. You go on and on about stupid little things that a true halo fan wouldn’t worry about.

Stop complaining now, because I know as soon as halo 4 is released, you’re going to be praising it like it’s our lord and savior.

God bless your soul.

And they aren’t? Look at all the armour abilities, some of which are natural progressers or tweaked versions of the REACH AA’s.The aesthetics are always going to vary by Halo game, maybe that’s something you’re just going to have to get used to (although the sniper DOES look horrible). And finally, if when you saw the gameplay you didn’t see Halo, then what game did you see?

Every map has a default load out you can choose witch will have specific items based off of the map and game type, so no need to worry about the load outs being a problem. In my opinion it looks just like halo, more so than reach anyway (again, just my opinion). How can you tell that the radar has more range, is that just a guess. If all else bothers you, just play the classic game-type, where armor abilities and load outs will not be a problem.

stop the hating you havnt even played it yet

Geez louise, some people are just losing it…

Pal this feels like a return to the older games to me, anyway take a deep breath and WAIT for the game.

Wow guys, Im not hating on anything, just posting some of my concerns. I will for sure play, and most likely love, Halo 4.

Wow! What game video were you watching. The graphics are beyond what I thought was possible on any xbox360 game.

Load outs are not going to be overpowered. 343 is working very hard to make absolutely sure all the weapons are balanced. AR will eat you alive at close range, but less effective at mid to long. That is just and example of what they are doing.

I am sorry but this game looks to be completely awesome. I can’t wait to get it in my hands.

Return to the older games? Wha!?! 'Talk about losing it…

Oh, and as for the tearful “you haven’t even played it yet” plea from some posters; you might not be able to develope an informed opinion based on information from an official source but it comes quite naturally for a lot of us.

Anyway, I don’t think the OP was saying he wouldn’t play the game until changes were made, I think he’s just expressing his concerns and was looking for others who feel the same way.

I can’t say too many positive things about the new mp gimmicks or the overall asthetics but campaign looks awesome (I think this without even playing it yet! It must be magic!!!). And I’m sure there will be a classic playlist for those who want a more old school Halo feel.

Gonna suck to be you come November if it’s this all the time: It’s not Halo 3. It’s too Noob friendly. It’s too ugly, it’s too over powered, they look like dinosaurs, it’s not reach’s elite, I don’t like the guns, it’s too different. It’s making too much money. Dang that’s a lot of emotional investment to the point of considering therapy or hard liquor.

Pre-orders are through the roof, so adapt might be overused to the point of cliche, but it’s certainly good advice come November if you put down the money and buy the game.

If not then I do not know what to tell you but that Halo 3 is still playing if you don’t want to buy Halo 4.

Good luck with that and peace.

Again, I’m not saying that the game will be horrible and I refuse to play it. What I am saying is that I have a few concerns for the game. I ENJOY CHANGE. I just believe that he change I have seen so far is negative. And just because Pre-Orders are through the roof doesn’t mean that the game will be amazing. BLack Ops and Modern Warfare 2 had an insane amount of pre-orders and sales, but they came out to be God awful.

There is a difference between “Hate” and “Concern” I am concerned for the game because I love the Halo series and only want what it best for the game.

opinions, far as the eye can see, cap’n!
