not happy with the ending of the campaign

I was Abit annoyed with the ending when John and Locke step off the pelican to greet doctor Halsey and the abitar, bugs me that it was all focused on Halsey and not abitar and chief, seeming as they have been threw loads together and haven’t seen each other since halo 3, trying to make me feel something for Halsey and chief seeing each other again, nah dosent work for me, chief and arbiter should of risk bumped each other

I mean Halsey is basically Johns mother and she feels more for him then any other spartan. Their relationship is more unique then arbiters and chiefs which is more based i respect. Plus cortana was basically a copy of Halsey’s brain so in a way the reuniting of Halsey and chief is the real reuniting of Cheif and Cortana… in a way atleast.

If there was a fist bump id break the game… never should there be a fist bump in halo, especially by chief and arbiter lol

oh just because YOU like “arbitar” it doesn’t mean anything. Halo isn’t going in the direction YOU want because you are not in charge of the universe.
lol
also the halsey-John moment is a lot more important.

I know, halo 5 campaign eas trash

343 wanted a cliffhanger to lead into Halo 6 (almost like Halo 2 cliffhanging into 3). What better way to accomplish that by making us wonder how Chief and Arbiter will work together again, among other things.

Pretty sure Halo 6 or the stories in between Halo 6 will explore Arbiter and Chief along with Halsey dude. He hasn’t seen Halsey way longer than he hasn’t seen the Arbiter.

Well… Considering the fact Chief and Arby barely spent a week together I wouldn’t call that going through loads with each other, in a sense. What they have is mutual respect as allies. Its the the same for Cortana, Chief only knew her for a few months… Years actually but he was in cryo most of the time. But for some reason we’ve spent all but two games following her… Including this one. But like what you’ve said with the Arbiter, they’ve gone through loads with each other as well.

As for Halsey, she and Blue Team are literally the only people Chief has a long drawn out connection with. Others include Johnson, Keyes, and the a few other Spartan IIs. And to an extent, Laskey, Buck and Lord Hood and a few others in the Extended Universe. But Halsey is important because of the fact she’s literally a mother figure for John. We spent basically all of Halo 4 trying to find her. She’s the most important character to Chief. She’s his emotional anchor besides Cortana. Him and Arbiter are kinda just like the buddy cops you see in old TV shows or Rush Hour or Fast in the Furious or something where they don’t like each other at first but eventually grow to like each other and act all buddy buddy and tote the friendship card.

Also a majority of the fanbase was dissapointed not only with Halo 5’ ending, but the Campaign mode as a whole. So yeah, we all share the same sentiments. But probably not at the same degree as you or for the same reason. But to each their own. I do wish they all had a longer “reunion” cutscene of sorts where everyone goes around and greets each other. And as they go through the camp and everyone else disperses after talking to Arbiter, Palmer, ect. Chief finally makes it over to Halsey, than she could’ve been like, “Took you long enough.” Than a hug! But whatever, what we got is what we got. Hopefully Halo 6 is waaaaaaay better…

“chief knew Cortana for months” you’ve lost me here
read books and additional media and you’ll learn a lot more…
// while this is quite true I think I is underestimating - one can know someone for weeks and that person can become very important

Everyone was annoyed with the ending. I’m more annoyed with the campaign overall.

I know, I said they knew each other for years, but only interacted with each other for a few months. Starting from a few times on Reach and subsequently after, starting from Halo CE. The timespans of Halo 1-3 was only a few months. Than from 3-4 and 5 it was years but Chief was in cryo for a majority of the time. But I get what you’re saying, there’s no doubt Chief and Cortana have created a relationship. I was just trying to get at Chief and Arbiter didn’t have the same character building as Chief and Cortana.

Also I have read and own every single piece of extended media Halo has to offer except the latest art book… But if you did read the extended media, than you’d know Chief and Cortana only have known each other for a short timespan. But I get what you’re saying about the relationship deal. So you kinda contradicted yourself. Your last sentence Is just confusing me a little, no offense. But it’s okay, it’s no big deal.

yeah I know what you mean I just meant to say that them being together just for months they grew on each other and became very importan for each other, John never really ignored any order or said ‘no’ - only when he tried to save Cortana… And when she sacrificed herself she said she wasn’t doing it fo r humanity but for John. Cortana being a Halsey clone also makes her quite alike as they are similar, and Halsey as you said is like a mother for John.

Alright then, and yeah. They have grown and created a meaningful relationship… Too bad 343 changed her character too drastically in this game… Doesn’t sit well with me… Or the Chief either for that matter.

lol did you read my previous post? I agreed with you that they known each other for months but I just pointed out that you can know a person for few weeks and not months in order to make a bond between you - seemed to be the case in their relationship

I know, there’s a reason why they didn’t follow through with it. But their interpretation is much better than 343s interpretation and their execution so far. I haven’t lost hope on her either, but it’s kinda hard to trust her when she’s murdered billions and smack-talked “me” and Osiris. But, hopefully the real Cortana is out there somewhere and may come back. Although I found contempt in her sacrifice in Halo 4.

I haven’t lost hope on her either, but it’s kinda hard to trust her when she’s murdered billions and smack-talked “me” and Osiris. But, hopefully the real Cortana is out there somewhere and may come back. Although I found contempt in her sacrifice in Halo 4.

it was a plot twist but I was kinda expecting that - especially after halo escalation… But yeah now give us our Cortana back ;_;

but for me also it was very emotional how Halsey looked at John and her voice, the tone of it, how she said it to John and how he stood there… It could have been longer but that scene was nice… Poor John.
