In the halo 4 prologue it shows a lot of Spartans that had the same armor as chief did. Now supposedly all of them got killed but what if this new game isn’t chief but is actually one of the Spartans that survived. And maybe the dog tag thing is one of his fallen Spartans. After all the thing where Cortana was got incinerated. How could he have the chip? This is complete speculation. What do you think? I don’t read the books or comics or anything so i could be missing something. But anyways, tell me what you think of the idea.
And before you guys say anything like its been confirmed to be halo 5, i know people have but if it was that obvious then why didn’t they just say halo 5? that is the thing that confuses me, everything points to halo 5 except that.
And if it was a different Spartan, he could have been hiding out there for along time and that could explain the cloak. After awhile all that sand would start to mess you up.

So he’s holding cortana’s chip for no reason? If it wasn’t MC then the armor would look drastically different and then the forums would rage over the possibility of MC not being the main character.

Did you even read the first post? I explained that it might not even be cortanas chip because that got incinerated. And Its not that hard to grasp that you are playing as a different spartan in almost the same armor. It’s not 3rd person so at the beginning it would be tripy but then you would be fine after awhile. And besides if you are a person who cares so much about the armor detail then that same person should understand that there were multiple Spartans with the same armor. Its not that hard to understand.
The thing is though, is that the armor that the chief wears is a MJOLNIR Mk. VI [Custom]. Cortana used nano-machines on the Forward Unto Dawn to redesign and upgrade his armor.
The Spartans in the Prologue did have similar armor, and apparently The Halo 4 Visual guide or something confirmed that those Spartans were wearing MJOLNIR Mk. IV armor. Also in the guide it said that this Mk. IV armor we see on the Spartans in the prologue was the inspiration for the design of Chief’s new armor.
MJOLNIR Mk. VI: Go down to “Production Notes” and then read the section on Halo 4
Basically what I’m saying is that it’s pretty hard to see any other Spartan wearing that armor. Not impossible, but highly unlikely. Also just because the data chip for Cortana was destroyed doesn’t mean he couldn’t just get a new blank chip to symbolize her.
> Probably a plot-hole, most of them should wear Mark V.
You are indeed correct. The only Spartans that wouldn’t have any updated armor systems would be Grey Team from the book The Cole Protocol, and the early members of Red Team that are featured in Halo Wars.
I have to say, a spin off game with the crew of the Spirit of Fire from Halo Wars, or a spin off featuring Grey Team would be pretty sweet, and would tie up some loose ends. I for one would love to know what happened to both parties.
Chief is the only Spartan who wears such armor, as it was modified by Cortana during his 5-year drift to Requiem. The Spartans in the prologue don’t wear that armor canonically, but rather likely because it was easier to make them all wear the armor that they had already done the CGI for/for continuity. This is definitely Chief.
