I’ve been playing for around an hour and a half and still haven’t played on the map. They need to improve the rotation.
in the MCC they had problems with this and they haven’t found the right solution, i agree. Let me give you my perspective.
In the MCC they added a BTB remake to the rotation months after launch. it was remnant for h2a, and h2a had only 1 or 2 other BTB maps. One was an awesome blood gulch remake called bloodline (if you haven’t played it you’re missing out haha). When remnant was released it was heavily favored in the rotation. so much so that bloodline was nowhere to be seen for months it seemed. it was really nice at first (say for a few days) to get to play the new map over and over again. but after awhile i missed a more balanced rotation, especially because of the other maps i wasn’t getting to play anymore that i still liked a lot.
They fixed the rotation in the MCC and since then it seems like they don’t want to repeat that again. Putting a new map into the rotation more often is great at first, but pretty soon everyone would complain its all they are getting.
Maybe as a solution they could feature the playlist for a week, making it come up for often for only a short period of time. Most people like me are trying to play today to get the new map, and i have the same problem.
Good thing we have all these helmets, weapon skins, and armors to make up for the lack of new game types. (sarcasm). they need to bring back doubles asap, all they have to do is flip the switch. it was good enough as it was, despite its flaws. id rather have a flawed game type than no game type. but thats off topic i guess.
the point is its a shame that with the new maps being the best part of the new update it doesnt really seem to affect the game overall. Every once in awhile ill get the new map and have the learning curve of getting to know it (like overgrowth) and otherwise its the same game as before. Some tweaks overall, but nothing really new to write home about. hey at least i got to run around the map in a custom game haha.
